Would love if Egyptian mythology is next , Clash between kratos and anubis would be Epic .

Christopher753d ago

Just FYI, Ragnarok is not the end of Norse gods/mythology. This doesn't go against SSM's plans apparently, but in mythology seeing Ragnarok as an ending isn't an ending to all things Norse mythology.

ecchiless753d ago

just the end of almost all their gods xD

Christopher751d ago

Based on the mythology, and don't read this if you don't want possible theories on the story as it could outline certain deaths in the game:

"Hoenir, Magni, Modi, Njord, Vidar, Vali, and the daughter of Sol are all stated to survive Ragnarok. All of the remaining Æsir then reunite at Ithavllir. Baldr and Hod return from the underworld - Baldr having been killed by Hod, and Hod by Vali, before Ragnarok."

That's a lot. And, since we know who killed Baldur, we might get a glimpse at a bit of the storyline here in Ragnarok if Kratos plays the role of Hod/Hoder. Of course, we assume that "trickery" is removed from the portfolio of Loki and perhaps replaced with naivete.

I just can never get enough God of War. To me this is the hack and slash that set the stage for all others. It is the standard that all others are measured.

ABizzel1753d ago

I wouldn’t say set the stage, as there were plenty of others beforehand.

But it is without question the bar at the pinnacle of hack and slash. Others may do some things better, but none do the entire experience (gameplay + story + graphics + acting + cast + set pieces + etc…) nearly to the level of God of War.

TheRealHeisenberg753d ago

I can agree with this. I slightly preferred the gameplay of Ninja Gaiden over God of War but that was it. God of War however did provide the complete experience.

Sunny_D753d ago

I enjoyed the combat of GOW 2018 so much even more than the original trilogy. Even though I may play DMC or Ninja Gaiden for the twitch action slash games, GOW really makes it satisfying wielding the axe.

Man you aren't kidding about the set pieces. Some of the best ever. The fact that a lot of those set pieces moved at some point took them to a whole new level.

bouzebbal753d ago

There are so many beat em all series from the past.. it was the biggest fashion in the 90s then 2000s.. I’d say it’s the franchise that kept outdoing itself through each episode and kept the quality on top

camel_toad752d ago

Do you remember fighting through literal hell and when you finally made it out it was Kratos climbing out of his own grave? That was just plain old badass.

Vengeance1138753d ago

One cant help but make comparisons with Assassins Creed here, what timeline will Kratos find himself in next?

GhostofHorizon753d ago

So far they have been focusing on European mythology but I could see them tackle Asian mythology at some point. There's a lot to choose from there.

Lionsguard753d ago

I hope they do Japan next. We've had a lot of European mythology already. I feel like it'd be a cooler to take on Japanese mythology next but I feel like Egypt would be a safer bet and they've already done concept art of it before changing to Nordic mythology and They've already hinted at Egypt being a land of many gods.

PS-Gamer-1986753d ago

I'm hoping for the sumerian mythology as it hasn't been covered much by media of any form and its stories has similarities with the old testament and also gods who created humans as slaves to mine gold for them. They would make good villains i guess

Name Last Name753d ago

The easiest would be the well established egyptian gods but I would prefer something like central american indigenuous mythology.

343_Guilty_Spark753d ago

Would be interesting to see mythology from lesser known Gods from other cultures...Norse, Greek...etc has been done to death. It's a big world out there.

Please don't compare god of war to that soulless, boring, repetitive series.

FlavorLav01753d ago (Edited 753d ago )

Can’t believe that even needed to be uttered, but thank you for the proper response.

S2Killinit753d ago (Edited 753d ago )

Aaaah I can rest easy now… thank you sir

Hellcat2020753d ago

It'll be without Boi because his tale ends with Ragnarok
Kratos will be on his own again

Vengeance1138753d ago

It is literally exactly what AC is doing... don't be so blind.

TheDoomedGuy753d ago

Timeline?
Assassin's Creed makes enormous jumps from on to another.

We're still dealing with Kratos

kayoss753d ago

Wu Kong vs Kratos... Probably will be an epic fight

VivaLaManual753d ago

I mean...if the prophecy is to be believed, Kratos won't survive. At least that's what the end of GOW lead you to believe.

ScootaKuH753d ago

I think it needs to end here one way or another. They run the risk of the series becoming a parody of itself if Kratos moves to a particular timeline, kills everyone and then moves onto another to do the same. He's old now, he has a son who is growing up. It's time to end Kratos's story.

Imagine the next game explore the Aztec mythology, Japanese mythology, Scandinavian folklore, or even the Egyptian Mythology. The idea of facing off against figures as imposing as Huitzilopochtli (Aztec sun and war god) or Quetzalcóatl is enough to get the hype train rolling. Ra the sun God I can imagine the possibilities
