"The Australia-based indie games publisher Blowfish Studios and Russia-based indie games developer Mistfly Games, are today very happy and excited to announce that their pulse-pounding sci-fi 3D space shooter “Subdivision Infinity DX” is coming to the PS5 on September 22nd, 2021." - Jonas Ek, TGG.
Subdivision Infinity DX originated as a mobile game, and that is inherent in it’s overall genetics. It’s a great game, with beautifully upgraded graphics, but some of the gameplay loop requires some excessive grinding. As a standalone space shooter, the combat and controls are tight and a lot of fun.
Subdivision Infinity DX is a visually striking space shooter that feels a little confused: is it about chill exploration or arcade action?
Despite its accessible controls and decent space dogfighting action, the mobile roots of Subdivision Infinity DX don't stand up to scrutiny as a console experience. The bare-bones story and repetitive gameplay loops simply don't hold up when removed from the platform they were tailor-made for, which ultimately results in a game that is difficult to recommend.
Reminds me of that "Drifter" game that was supposed to launch on Vita and PS4 like 8 years ago
I remember this game on the Switch. I liked it.
