Well done Ninty, now on to the 100 million club.

NeoGamer232958d ago

Looks like Switch will pass PS4 in 2023.

The big question left is whether or not Switch can maintain momentum to make a run at PS2 hardware totals.

darthv72958d ago

With roughly 18 weeks left in the year, I believe the Switch can do another 5m+ easily. Which means they can make it into the 100m club by March of 22 which would be about the end of their fiscal year.

darthv72958d ago

And before anyone mentions it, yes i know these charts are not in real time. Real time is around 16 weeks left in the year (114 days as of today).

Darkborn958d ago

Nintendo could probably do it. I wonder how they not only sell the most currently, but also seem to have the most chips.

Kakashi Hatake958d ago

I'm going to sound like a hater but worst member of the 100m club by far. The majority of its good software originates from its predecessor.

darthv72958d ago

^^not by a longshot. WiiU (predecessor) had something like 750+ games. Switch is over 4000. That means you are wrong in your assessment as even if all 750+ games were on switch, its still only amounts to 19%. Hardly what you can classify as "majority"

SullysCigar958d ago

^ In all fairness @darthv72, he said "the majority of its GOOD software", which is purely subjective, so while we're free to disagree, we can't really prove him wrong with figures.

PS5 just warming up, stretching its legs.;)

DefaultComment958d ago

yeah, just to trip after the first 3 meters.

Aloymetal958d ago

Nah, PS5 is in good hands;)..................... https://www.alltopeverythin...

DefaultComment958d ago

@Aloymetal yeah whatever lets your sleep at night, even if it's a lie.

MetalProxy958d ago

Guess it helps to be the only “console” you can get in the store at any time.

DefaultComment958d ago

that and the variety of games available for you to play.

Zeref958d ago (Edited 958d ago )

I wonder what the MAU numbers are for the Switch. I've seen so many people buy one, use it once and then never touched it again.

That's one advantage of being in the "impulse buy" price range <300 dollars, plus the form factor.

Atom666958d ago

They're moving a lot of software. I'd say maus are good.

When Wii hit years 4 and 5, you saw their software (and hardware) numbers take a nose dive. Mostly because they were collecting dust. Switch is still moving HW and a lot of games, so somebody is playing them.

Darkborn958d ago

Havnt turned mine on in a little over a year.

Zeldafan64958d ago

You must have a pretty narrow taste in games if you haven't found something to play on it in over a year. I have over 100 games for the Switch.

DEKUX12957d ago

Then why do they games sell more? Why do the have 80% console always on? Also why ps5 has only like 40% usage data oh waot cus scalpers ruined it
