GameBoy games are set to come to NSO, but they will not be enough to fix a long standing issue with the Switch's retro offerings.
Hanzala from eXputer: "Contra: Operation Galuga, though nothing new and has some story issues, is still a love letter to Contra fans just wanting to shoot stuff."
Obsidian Entertainment’s Grounded is a unique survival game that shrinks down to fit on the Switch, but is it a worthy experiment?
Hitting the console gaming scene via the QUByte Interactive and Ops Game Studio teams is Lunar Axe for Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch
Nintendo should add the Gameboy, Gameboy Colour, Gameboy Advance, N64, GameCube to the roster of retro ware for the Switch. The handheld market has also helped Nintendo everybody else has tried to dethrone Nintendo in the hand held market but Nintendo remains king. And neglecting that part of your history and not adding it to the Switch is a let down to fans. There are fans who have games on these older systems they love to death me I wish Playstation had away to play Vita and PSP games on a Playstation console.
No duh. The Switch has been out for 4 years, and all through that time they've put in the minimum of minimal effort into growing the NES/SNES collection, and that's after taking a whole year after release to even begin. Look at how often they add games, and then look at the games they add. Seeing people excited for this confuses me, do y'all honestly think they'll put any effort into GB/GBA games?
The dang thing should have had GB/GBA games 3 years ago followed by N64, and GC by now since we know it can emulate GC games just fine. Y'all somehow convinced yourself that paying, even if it's 20 dollars, for their service is totally worth it.
It's not.
Imagine Nintendo actually putting the same efforts into the switch as they did the WiiU. I wouldn't even have any issues with switch if they did that. Virtual Console alone would make switch worth it. But NOPE, extremely limited Nes and SNES libraries under a rip off of a paid service. So sad smh
I want them to start adding N64 games but
I feel like Nintendo is holding back on adding N64 titles because they:
Take more work for emulation or
they might be releasing an N64 mini or
they are planning on re-releasing them in collections or remasters on Switch.
Once the Nostalgia kicks in, they know they will sell like hotcakes. I personally don't care about Gameboy games.
Considering NSO is required to play online on all retail games that cost money, if that is what you want to do then you really have no other options. Them adding these old games is a nicety -- I just have a hard time believing that it is what is driving people to sign up for NSO.
