Ghost Of Tsushima Director's Cut Removes Loading Screens, 2 Seconds To Start Up Or Use Fast Travel

Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut on PS5 reduces load times so much that it takes mere seconds to load the game or use fast travel.

Jin_Sakai1001d ago

4K 60fps, no loading screens, and 2 seconds fast travel. Sucker Punch are amazing!

Darkborn1001d ago

Plus duelsense and 3D audio. I can't wait to play this all over again. This was a true masterpiece of a game.

rakentaja1001d ago

3D Audio is nothing more than 3D Spatial Audio for Series consoles. Sony just names it differently, but people think it's something the Xbox doesn't have.

Bathyj1001d ago

It's a game of the year worthy game. That's something Xbox doesn't have Mr Defensive.

garos821001d ago

@rakentaja dont make me laugh. played returnal on $10 hedphones and having surround sound coming out of them is nothing short of a miracle. good luck trying to get that out of xbox

I was always impressed by how fast loading screens in this game were.. but too bad they aren’t patching the game for those who own it

Dandizzle1001d ago

Youtube videos like that drive me crazy, how can you do a graphics comparison with a 720p video?

Brazz1001d ago

if i buyPs4 directors cut can i upgrade to Ps5 later?

Applejack1001d ago

That’s pretty much a given. It’s silly to assume PS4 could do the same lol.

BlaqMagiq11001d ago

I mean... did you really expect this on PS4?

andy851001d ago

The only asterisk less necessary than that would be that Mario is releasing *on Nintendo

Released on Pc after 4 years and at 60$ price currently have 57k players, now imagine if it was released day one like Helldivers 2 almost 460k players! on steam alone sony need to think again.

Lightning7712h ago

Very high demand for Sony games on PC. This is a good thing.

ZeroX987638m ago

Most ports on PC looks absolutely fantastic, so even if there's a timing difference in releases, as long as they take full advantage of what our current PCs can do, I think PC gamers won't mind as much as long as the end products plays great.

Online multiplayer games and franchises that has or will have a Tv show/movie coming out should be prioritized in the future PC ports list of games in my opinion, to ride the hype/marketing waves on all platforms while the interests of gamers for them is at it's peak to maximize sales and market exposure.

Glad it's doing well on PC, more funds for the studio for their next project(s)!

Storm2311h ago

Would you go same day release for PC with the PS5? Or do you think 6 months would be ok? We can all agree, I would think, that 4 years is way too long.

anast2h ago

Why change it? PC gamers will treat it like a day 1 release 4 years later. When the game sales completely flat lines on console is when they should bring it to PC for a second release.

shaenoide11h ago

Releasing day one means no need to buy a Playstation and Sony losing 30% of each games sold.

Chevalier10h ago(Edited 10h ago)

Its a Sony game publisher by them so it's 100% on console not 30%. If they release on Steam they Steam takes 30%

DaMist10h ago

@chevalier that's what shaenoide meant, releasing they one, they would lose 30% of each game sold on steam on top of some people not needing to get a console

hiroyukisanada3h ago

Just like @shaenoide said. If you go Day and date launch on PC, no need to buy a PlayStation. Exactly why Xbox sales have plummeted.
In order to sell consoles, you need exclusives.
Keep the Single player games exclusive for a few years but make the multiplayer games day and date.
I'd argue that's their best strat in order to sell consoles. If not, they're done for. Just like Xbox consoles.
But MS has Windows. Sony doesn't.

outsider162410h ago

Releasing day 1 on pc. Why would you need a ps5 then. This strategy is doing Sony's business better.

wesnytsfs49m ago

Most console gamers will never go to PC. They either do not want to put up the money for a good gaming pc or they simply do not want to deal with PC issues. AAA games are expensive and its obvious one platform is unable to recoup that cost anymore.

jznrpg3m ago(Edited 1m ago)

Nm read it wrong. I won’t go back to PC. I want physical games, I don’t want to keep upgrading my PC. I like to collect consoles. I did the Pc thing for almost 20 years and I’m done with it.

notachance9h ago(Edited 9h ago)

Why? Delayed release means there’s bound to be people who double dipped and buy both version, especially single player games which is often one and done. Simultaneous release works for multiplayer game riding the hype train, that’s why helldivers 2 is successfull as it is now.

Why do you think Rockstar always released a game for console first and then PC way later? Double dip is the key. Although that can only work if the game itself is amazing: GTA V, RDR2, Horizon, GoW, now GoT. I reckon if forspoken did that it won’t turn out the same..

blackblades7h ago

The whole point of PC releases is to gain more players that would never get a PlayStation to begin with. Some can wait for years apparently for it to release on pc then get a PlayStation as seen. Still day one is a no go, have them sign for psn account because they are PlayStation good strategy business wise. End of the day it has nothing to do with me except for the obvious

wesnytsfs46m ago

I traded in my series X since I never played it and Im getting close to doing the same with the ps5. The PC is usually the best version of a game and the only console I really play anymore which is still rare is the switch. Its become worth waiting to play a game to experience on the most powerful platform.

Jingsing6h ago(Edited 6h ago)

If we go by your number $60 x 57,000 then take away Valve's 30% = $1,026,000 you get = $2,394,000.

That is not including all the other associated deployment costs, so in terms of clear profit it probably doesn't end up being much. Maybe in the region of just over a million in profit. That is small fries for a company like Sony.

I'm calling that not really worth it. Also there are more than 57k people downloading it from another location that isn't Steam if you know were to look. So Sony will be considering that too. If the profits are too low and more people are grabbing it for free so to speak then why would they continue?

Michiel19891h ago

that is just the currently playing ones, not including people who stopped playing a minute ago, not including the people who play in offline mode

Jingsing14m ago

@Michiel1989 Likewise you aren't including refunds either, so it cuts both ways.

Markdn2h ago

Only works well if you care about pc players, I sure don't, I always. Kill crossplay when on my console games. I'm not slating pc gamers. Just saying I don't care what comes out on your hardware or when, just as long as I'm supported first on Console, you can see how well that's worked out for M$ and gamepass. Killed their console division. Sony need to. Maintain a healthy gap between console and then PC release to avoid this. The trouble with the PC boys is they always want every thing first because they imagine there special or deserve preferential treatment. Thankfully Sony know this is not the case and it's the Console players who keep the company in profit not the pc players

Michiel19891h ago

why are you comparing a closed platform that actually has an owner to an open platform that doesn't?

"he trouble with the PC boys is they always want every thing first because they imagine there special or deserve preferential treatment" you literally just said that you don't care about pc as long as you get it first on your console. The hypocrisy -.-

I'm not sure what pc gamers you know, but the ones I know just want their games to be customizable to their hardware and have the game run good. I'm pretty sure that you don't talk to any pc players actually, looking at the way you talk about them.

Cacabunga2h ago

How about the console sales you excluded from your ridiculous analyse?? GoT was a big system seller that moved many PS4. Sony needs games like this one to keep their loyal fanbase. It’s in their benefit to keep the exclusives and not end couples like another company starting with x

DarXyde1h ago(Edited 1h ago)

That doesn't make sense.

Why wouldn't they continue staggered release dates if it means they can sell it years later at a premium and still have sales like it's day one?

They literally gave Ghost of Tsushima its THIRD wind.

I have it on PS5 (never played it it’s in my collection) but I want to play it on PC. But I will wait for it to get below $30.

Storm2311h ago

I played it on PS5 and it was fantastic. I'm sure the experience on PC will be incredible. I hope there are some significant upgrades (if possible) to an already beautiful game.

neutralgamer19929h ago

I love sucker punch they are very underrated. I hope the rumor about a smaller team at SP working on a new SLY is also true

Goodguy0111h ago

Very good pc port. Some things here and there but very excellent. I stopped playing the game back on ps4 as I got burnt out but now I'm very ready to play through the whole game this time and in glorious 1440p and unlocked framerate. I suggest turning off AA and any upscaling, game looks beautiful.

Magatsuhi10h ago

Thought Sony ruined the game? That's what many youtubers said.

EternalTitan2h ago

Some stuff arent very historically accurate but this game is basically the Assasins Creed set in Japan we all have been asking for.

UltimateOwnage10h ago

Sony has been doing fantastic PC ports that leverage the benefits of the platform, but also allow them to scale to even handheld PC’s like the Deck. It’s awesome to see them do PC ports right.

Ghost of Tsushima on PC Won't Be Released in Specific Countries Due to PSN, and Here's the List

It seems Ghost of Tsushima on PC will have the same PSN purchasing restrictions that caused massive backlash to Helldivers 2.

H95d ago

People on N4G: just fly to another country, what's the big deal

JL29305d ago

No one cares about 3rd world problems.

INMATEofARKHAM5d ago

There's actually at least one 1st world country on that list and a number of 2nd world countries too. It's almost as if you don't know what defines 1st, 2nd or 3rd world countries... 🤔

JL29305d ago

Ever hear of turn of phrase? English must not be your first language.

H95d ago

If only it was a gender problem

SPEAKxTHExTRUTH4d ago

If I had to guess your age based on your comment I’d say middle schooler.

not available in JAPAN., wtf sony need to sort their sh** out. this is beyond a joke when a samurai game cannot be sold in Japan, something is wrong.

Hugodastrevas5d ago

Yeah, it's all wrong since they may bed to California

StoneTitan4d ago

Because for Japan you have to create a different version. You should look it up. The game is sold in Japan but its not the same storefront. Same with helldivers.
Has something to do with microtransaczion laws.
Look it up.

Hugodastrevas5d ago

Bunch of geniuses running Sony these days... Smh

ocelot075d ago

Got the feeling Sony are half arsing the PC thing. It's that or the whole PC thing is completely lost on them.

wesnytsfs5d ago

Its lost to sony, They have been quite poor at pc releases going all the way back to the OG planetside.

TheColbertinator8h ago

Sony Online had so much potential and Sony squandered it.

wesnytsfs41m ago

@TheColbertinator, I think they still can be successful on PC. But treating the platform like they do with such delays before releasing on PC will never endear them to PC gamers.

Inverno5d ago

Why tho? The SP works without the need to log into PSN, this was literally announce. So why is it an issue? Simply A. removing the login restriction fixes this, or B. People simply won't play the MP which I don't think people will care much. A better option is A, or even better just lower the game price in those countries to compensate for the lack of MP access.
