It was no gem. It was the worst thing that could happen to Mortal Kombat at that time. Quan Chi and the Soundtrack were the only good things of this game.

I have never played a console port so I can’t speak on that but I had a blast playing it on arcade.

Yea mk4 was a beast and i used to destroy in the arcade. I had it on n64 but it was no where near as good as the arcade game.

MK4 in the arcade was good, trash on console. An underrated gem for me was MK mythologies: sub zero

trash on console? maybe on n64 but the ps1 version has those awesome cg endings. not to mention goro was added for the console release.
