don't all the souls games do this?

OhReginald50d ago

Yes but this new mechanic seems a bit more accessible by being able to take your summon on the go instead of the summon being in a specific spot only.

If you read the article though the author clearly didn't know you could summon at all.

“In the Dark Souls Trilogy, players would need to “git gud” and sometimes need to go solo just to overcome certain routes and bosses. There are hints from other players, but that is just it. No actual help that would fight with them kill bosses or even mobs that would hinder their progress. In Elden Ring, there is finally a way to do this.“

This game journalist realizes you could summon NPCs and actual players in the Dark Souls Trilogy, right? Or did he only play Sekiro?

Inverno50d ago

No, he only knew about "git gud" from the countless memes. He never actually played DS or Bloodborne

Game journos never get past the 1st boss in Soulsborne games.

FROM addressing accessibility / difficulty concerns on their own terms. Well played.
