343 Industries has just revealed the PC graphics settings for Halo Infinite's upcoming Technical Beta.
Looking back I think ppl were too hard on this game tbh
Is this just like supposed to trigger people into an argument or something.
N4G wouldn't be around were it not for their divisive articles. 95% of the point of this site is for people to publicly announce that they like gaming platform A, therefore gaming platform B is complete garbage, and you're an idiot if you enjoy anything about it.
No I really think ppl went in too hard on this, But I blame Microsoft and Sony for not declaring beforehand that next gen consoles are likely to have an extended Cross gen Cross over period
"But I blame Microsoft and Sony for not declaring beforehand that next gen consoles are likely to have an extended Cross gen Cross over period" Eh. MS was actually vocal about this. It was Sony who were making "next gen" claims and that they would focus only on the PS5. MS was transparent. It was Sony who used clever PR speak to make it seem they were 100% focusing on the PS5 going forward.
Though I agree with you to a very slight extent (many of your takes I'm fervently against), in this instance, Ryan still said this in June 2020 (referencing the piece you're talking about): "We have always said that we believe in generations. We believe that when you go to all the trouble of creating a next-gen console, that it should include features and benefits that the previous generation does not include. And that, in our view, people should make games that can make the most of those features. "We do believe in generations, and whether it's the DualSense controller, whether it's the 3D audio, whether it's the multiple ways that the SSD can be used... we are thinking that it is time to give the PlayStation community something new, something different, that can really only be enjoyed on PS5." Thus far, they are the only console maker of the two to provide exclusive, only-can-be-had-experiences on PS5 (including the controller, which was not something we got on the PS4). Their UI is also something new and not a copy/paste like the Xbox Series X's is from the One. Yes, I too was disappointed when I heard that some heavy hitters were also headed to PS4, but we still have next generation-only games from them and they have the better balance of the two companies.
@behind Virtually everything was voiced after the fact. After the release of the system.
Microsoft was not really making games so why would anyone think they would have a next gen game? They are over a decade now for not making any new AAA games. Sony has next gen games, so why would people be misled by Sony?
"Why would people be misled by Sony" Because Sony was misleading in how they handled speaking on how they were handling upcoming titles? They literally took jabs at MS when they announced they'd be supporting both generations of consoles. And then turned around and also supported both generations of consoles.... They happily let customers assume they were all about the PS5, and then only brought up cross generation support after release. So yeah .... they were being disingenuous.
Again though, Microsoft was up front about supporting cross gen. Long before they released the current gen of Xbox. It was Sony who was being shady about it, only speaking on it after the PS5 released, where everyone was now going to find out anyway. They wanted to sell as many PS5s as possible, and knew they'd get more people interested in adopting early if they thought they would be missing out on more games than they actually are.
A Sony game trailer is still up with the same "Get Ready For Next Gen" text on YouTube. One of their cross-gen games announced as a next-gen only title (could apply to almost everything they have announced, actually)
