All available to play starting Tuesday, August 3.
I liked PvZ (the first game) and Ive never played any of the 3rd person garden games. Im really surprised EA has not made a sequel to the original.
I didn't like the 3rd person ones but then again they are totally different games. There actually was a PvZ2 but imo they butchered the formula making it a f2p game. I still to this day go back to the first game every once in a while. A 3rd one is also in development.
wow, thank you for telling me about the f2p game. i see it on their site now. i play the original on ds and 360 but I can try 2 on my phone. Thanks again.
There is a sequel... it's a mobile game, up to its frickin eyes in MT. I prefer your POV, where's the real, decent, sequel to PvZ EA? SERIOUSLY, don't waste your data downloading pvz2.
*Sigh* Was really hoping those leaks were wrong.
The leak came from PlayStation.com. It had no chance of being wrong. It didn't come from some random site
hey justin, do you still do the comparison articles for these services each month?
A rare miss from Sony this month, I'm thinking. Though I haven't played these games, I've no desire to bother either.
@darthv72 No we don't. We stopped those years ago. I personally never liked them
Yeah, disappointing month.
PS+ Microtransaction Festival confirmed.
I guess the August games are just a bad month for PS Plus users this year, I was hopping the leak was wrong too.
I think this is a bad month from Sony.
I haven't played a tennis game since the ones on the dreamcast
Same but this is more a realistic tennis game. I could definetly go for more virtua tennis
Yeah I like arcady sports games more. Like nfl blitz back in the day. Nothing tops playing nba jam on genesis for nostolgia
the later virtua tennis games on ps3..and xbox? were good
No need to sugarcoat here - thats just a bad month for free games. Oh well, onto September
They are not free games. You pay up to $10 a month for PS+.
I bought into PS+ before I even knew the free games was a thing. So its a nice added plus to a subscription model (I was already more than fine paying just for online play and access to discounts) when there are games worth playing on there I don't have to otherwise buy on the store. It was just faster to type "free"
Logic isn't allowed here. Humble Bundle Choice gives you store discounts and 5% goes to charity, but it doesn't make the games free or the discounts are free. lol
Lackluster UNLESS Hunters arena hits like im hoping. Not sure why so many are down on it without it gwtting a shot
Because the game came out on PC already and no one is playing it. That likely says a lot
Ah ok that makes sense lol
Of all the years I had PS+, this is one of the worst free games months in recent memory. On the plus side, it’s a chance to catch up on my back log.
They ain't free games. You're paying to have access to all these so-called free games.
I’m paying a subscription to play online. That’s the purpose and reason I have PS+, not for randomly selected games. These are free because I pay $0 for said games. I don’t know why people don’t understand this. Netflix movies aren’t free cuz people pay to access their library. Game Pass games aren’t free cuz people pay to access their library. PS+ online play isn’t free cuz we pay to play online. The games are free perks.
@CobraKai So If I have PS Plus for the games then the online is free? Lol! I guess when you buy a phone it comes with a free screen and battery lol. The cost of PS Plus is for the online AND the games.
@cs7 If you download games to your phone thats $0 then you paid for it cuz you bought a phone with cell service? And would you really buy PS+ for free random games that you may or may not own?
They're free in a sense though. I'm not paying extra for them outside of my PS+ subscription which costs me £50 a year am I?
Do the same rules apply for Game Pass Ultimate?
If you're paying to access PS+ you are also paying to access those so-called free games. People who also own gamepass make this same claim. And it seems people don't like being corrected about it.
But I’m paying $0 for these games. It’s free. If you went to dinner and the restaurant gives you free dessert, are you gonna say “it’s not free cuz I paid for dinner” even tho they coulda had you pay the cost of the dessert? Game Pass games are not free cuz the subscription is about accessing games.
GPU gives you Xbox Live Gold. And PC games. And xCloud. Does that mean all those services are free by your rationale?
@CobraKai Lolol! I’m hoping you’re like 8 years old or something, its hard to believe an adult can’t grasp this concept. So tell me: Does your car come with 4 free tires? Does your refrigerator come with a free freezer? Did you laptop come with a free trackpad? Did your phone come with a free camera? You are paying $10 for the online AND the games . Its not rocket science mate. The second you stop paying you lose access. That means its not free. Sony literally takes (a portion of) your $10 to pay developers for you to get these games.
@cs7 I was thinking the same about you since you can’t grasp the rationale of what is free. True nothing is ever 100% free, but by your rationale I can say these are not free cuz I paid $600 for a PS5 to play it. These are not free cuz I paid for the WiFi to get it. These are not free cuz I pay electricity to use it. But in the end, on top of all that and my PS+ account. I payed $0 to play em when I woulda paid up to $60 for each. That’s is free. With the car. If they said here’s 3mos free satellite radio when purchasing the car, the satellite radio would be the PS+ games When I you I bought a Mac and they gave me 6 months free Apple music service. The Apple music would be the PS+ games. I paid $0 even tho I paid for something else. The games are free perks. It really isn’t rocket science. @domination Those services are not free. The games with Games with Gold are. PS Now games are not free. PS+ games are. Again paying $0 is free. I dunno why this is so difficult. I paid $60 for God of War. I paid $0 for Days Gone cuz I have PS+. It’s a free perk. It’s free cuz certain requirements are met. There’s free DLC for games. It’s free cuz you pay $0 even though you paid $60-$70 for the game itself. Having ps+ I paid $60 for God of War. Having ps+ I can pay $0 for God of War. Paying $0 is free. Not… that… complicated.
They’ve been killing it lately honestly we can give them a pass this month.
This. I get it would be nice for every month to be amazing but as long as I'm getting for more than the $30 I pay a year for PS+ then I'm happy
Not great, but gives me an excuse to try some different games I suppose. While the big name titles are cool, often times I already have them. Never heard of Hunter's Arena.
Hunter's Arena looks cool
You know its a bad month when Games With Gold has a better line up of games on offer.
I'll reserve judgment only because I never played Hunter Arena
i keep adding these games to my library hoping ill get to them some day. ill try out the tennis game. last tennis game i played was on the psp.
Actually hunters arena has a lot of potential. It’s a wild card as it’s a brand new game. Action game with dmcish combos but a battle might be fun. Also has some tenchu vibes. All hope rest on that game.
Definitely the worst month I can remember but most months are good so it’s fine . Not much to put on PS5 but the PS4 games could be better . The nice part is I don’t own any of the games so I guess that’s a plus??? I’ll try out tennis and the new games for a little bit and probably delete , skip PVZ as I only liked the first game on my Vita
well um... yea, those are games, alright.
There are some months when Sony adds additional games out of the blue. Hope this will be such a month cuz I'm not interested in any of these titles.
haha damn well i guess sony...
Bang average it seems. However I could be wrong. Never played any of them. Use to love tennis games so I'll give it ago. Enjoyed the plants Vs zombies games a few years ago so I may enjoy it. The Hunters game does not look like I'll enjoy it. But I'll give it a fair chance.
And I remember some people saying that PlayStation plus was better than Gamepass 🤣 well there you go now PlayStation has its own Game Pass cuz you should pass on these games
I won't even be adding these to the library this time around. Carry on, next.
I add them all to my library but I rarely play them. The last game I received on PS Plus that I spent some time with was Destruction Allstars and even that has been uninstall now. On PS4vi could probably count on one hand the number of PS Plus games I played through. I just don't bother with them
We are the same you and I. To be honest I'm always into my knees with games to play anyway lol.
Let us get an umpire to get us a Let
Very average month, we'll see what I download.
What was that sports game that they removed from PS Plus prior to the monthly game release because of backlash? Was it football/soccer or basketball....can't remember. Either way if they removed some other sports game why does Tennis get a free pass?
Take that gamepass! Five dollars more and they don’t even have tennis. Hopefully World Tour 2 has expanded on everything that made World Tour one the international success that it was.
Hawt list. Dunno how I will find the time to plat these winners.
Everyone seems pretty upset about this line up of games… crazy it’s like we’ve never had bad months before with ps plus in the past, just wait til next month lol
And everyones griping and complaining..... Come on people, FREE is FREE and no two gamers are alike. Youve gotta have a diverse selection of games for diverse customers, thats how you sell consoles and services, GET OVER IT! SEGA makes a GREAT tennis game bytheway.
The leak was true in the end. Well... after a long time, this is a bad month for me. Fine, finger crossed for the next one (and the PSNow update, unless it's already out?).
Any good games they do give on PS Plus, anyone with a job would already have for months and the other games are crap like this. And they are not free when they force you to pay $10 a month to use online services.
