Nearly 1,000 current and former Activision Blizzard Inc. employees have signed a letter calling the company’s responses to a recent discrimination lawsuit “abhorrent and insulting.”
That's a high percentage of the staff. Good for them. The female employee's suicide on a company trip (caused by sexual harassment, her boss having a relationship with her and a nude picture of her being shared between colleagues) alone makes the claim that it's a "truly meritless and irresponsible lawsuit" truly vile. There's a lot in this lawsuit so I encourage people to properly read into it.
Chinavision is the last company I would defend but comparing the 40 year CEO kotick to the recently created “chief people officer” as an example of equal pay discrimination is laughable lol. It shows the kind of mindset that is bringing this lawsuit for sure. It wouldn’t hold in regular court but this would be a California court so who knows. I doubt it would be worth to fight it even if they could. Activision talking shit makes me think most of the states examples fall into this category of vagueness of context and could be defendable. I highly doubt they can prove Activision hired females just to shit on them. They will settle though, I’m almost certain because everyone wins. It will go away, no discovery, the state gets paid for calling the video game industry sexist and nothing changes.
