Senior System Designer of Warcraft Says 'Almost no work is being done'

Jeff Hamiliton via Twitter: "I don’t know what to do. I don’t have all the answers. I can tell you, almost no work is being done on World of Warcraft right now while this obscenity plays out. And that benefits nobody - not the players, not the developers, not the shareholders."

The story is too old to be commented.

How much work really needs doing on this game it’s 17 years old ffs. The amount of work being (or not) done isn’t the problem. Let’s be grown up and honest about this. The problem is they’re panicking about their shareholders. It’s pathetic.

Not almost as if they're saying, "Who cares about 'a few' cases of molestation, abuse and suicide, don't you want this game?

"Hell, you look the other way about labor abuses in China for your iPhone and other cheap electronics, why not this too?"

Well mmos do always require maintenance and bug fixers.

What the hell are you talking about? There's tons of work that needs done they are behind on. Wow is an MMO, a constant stream of releasing content is not a crazy expectation. Especially when you pay $15 a month for access.

They've been going 3-6 months between patches. It's really dropped off in effort.

All of their games follow the same pattern. Starts off solid with satisfying mechanics then they are diluted with OP expansions.

Always mentioning the damn shareholders. This is not about them you fools.

Will Blizzard ever go back to making a Warcraft RTS game like back in 90s and early 2000s? Where is Warcraft 4?? It's been almost 20 yrs! Babies were born and gave birth to their own babies since Warcraft 3 was released. That's how long ago it has been. I enjoyed the Warhammer 40k series, but what about Warcraft?
