Unfortunately, it's possible that Valve's Steam Deck could face distribution problems like the Xbox Series X/S and the PlayStation 5 at launch.
If that happens it’s likely the kind of problem Valve would love to have.
I'm just happy that this many people are excited about handheld gaming again that is not on a mobile phone.
Not at all, really. Pre-orders are fully functional. Literally anyone that wants to reserve one could do so at this very second. This is how Microsoft and Sony should have done it but they didn't want to betray their retail partners. Something Steam doesn't have to worry about.
It will be interesting to see how this sells in Japan. I wonder how popular steam is over there if at all.
The PS5 is hard to get because demand is much greater than supply. I don’t see this as a problem with the Steam Deck when you can also play Steam games on the go with a laptop.
Maybe since to entire platform is open another PC maker will produce a variant of the Stream Deck.
Who doesn't, there'es a shortage of chips world wide, if it sells out, I'm sure Valve would be happy, and I don't think they'll lose sales from having people wait on it.
