When it comes to ranking the Animal Crossing games, we're talking about some of the most popular games ever and also Amiibo Festival.
Wild World became the first Animal Crossing title to settle on a portable system — or at least, really portable if we do not count those e-Reader mini-games we previously discussed — as incoming villagers began to drop down on the Nintendo DS’s early days.

So far I'm liking New Horizons the least, but I've been told that it gets better. I'm only into day 2 of the game, with two villagers who I'm kind of meh about. It just doesn't have as much going on yet as previous games I've played. I like that there is supposedly a lot of freedom in how to shape and decorate the island, but very little of that is available to me right now. I did get freedom on where to live, and where my fellow villagers would live, so there's that.
I just got a pole today to vault over and explore parts of the island that weren't available to me yesterday, so maybe I jut need time with the game. I don't time travel, so I'm just going to have to do this legit and I know that Animal Crossing is not a game about instant gratification. I think it's way too early for me to judge it properly.
