'Fire risk' alert over fake games consoles

Dangerous counterfeit games consoles could be putting the lives of Lincolnshire bargain-hunters at risk. HM Revenue and Customs has seized hundreds of fake Nintendo DS and DS Lites – dozens of which were destined for the county.

It says the consoles' power adaptors, which have not been safety tested, could "put consumers' lives in danger". The consoles themselves, although they are copies of the official product, will work and are said to have cost £40 from the Asian website which was selling them.
