Just got up to chapter 3.

Forget frame rate and resolution, when does this game stop feeling like a tutorial?

Run down path with invisible barriers and scripted events, being told to press X to vault over waist-height obstacles after having done it 20 times already.

The visuals are better than I was expecting but does this get good?

I really loved this game.
Yeah, there's a lot of stop and, wait, here's a new mechanic to learn about but, honestly, I just consider that good pacing in a linear game.

Not to mention the setting is interesting, and I really enjoyed the game.

Knushwood Butt195d ago

Well I definitely like the setting. I didn't realize it was set in France.

I do have some issues with the voice acting and audio in general but I'll let it fly for now.

I plan to play more but if it's more scripted (you must do A and then do B or you die) and hand holding then I going back to what I was playing before.

The fight at the end was especially creative, I thought.

Profchaos195d ago (Edited 195d ago )

Yeah same I'm up to chapter two and still getting promoted at every turn with press button to perform XYZ and I was left thinking the same thing

Rimeskeem195d ago

It def throws you for a loop. Puzzles get more interesting and the end was not something I expected at all!

There is not much action in this game it’s basically hide and stealth 80% of the game, while you can use your slingshot more in the later parts, Buts it more of a heavy based story survival game..

SDuck195d ago

this game is certainly not loved for the gameplay but its story, visuals and the setting surely make up for it. There will be parts more challenging ahead but just try to appreciate those aspects I mentioned and you'll have a good time

Given the awards & accolades, if you aint into it yet, you might as well put it down.

I agree it does hold you hand a bit early on. If you stick with it though it become a bit more open, you will have areas with different ways to tackle stealth and such.

I'm really liking the game and the story is what I like most so far. The gameplay is linear but well done and fun.

More like an interactive visual game, it does offer good gameplay though...reminds me of Hellblade, not setting and such..just the linear, story, Cinematic, great graphics with not so intricate but fun gameplay.

The same resolution as the XBO-X & the PS4 Pro.

philm87195d ago

Doesn't matter as long as the final image quality is a lot better.

PunksOnN4G195d ago

But its not u can watch videos compraing last gen to ext on ps4 pro and x1 they had higher details and alot more foliage and so on that was removed on next gen

Elda195d ago

Doesn't matter 1X & Pro consoles have the same resolution as this generation.

Darkwatchman194d ago

One X and Pro did not render at the same resolution. One X was higher.

But double the framerate. from 30 to 60 with enhanced visuals

Fntastic195d ago

PC looks a lot cleaner looking

Flewid638195d ago

That's the version I played, looks identical.

I noticed ps5 having better anisotropic filtering. Fps dips on series s in cut scenes.
