Babylon's Fall Was the Most Disappointing Game of E3 2021

Alex S. from Link Cable Gaming writes: "I would describe E3 2021 as uneven, with peaks and valleys throughout the week. But there was one game that really, really rubbed me the wrong way. I’m talking about Square Enix and Platinum Game’s Babylon Fall. Once one of the games I was keeping an eye on closely I now want nothing to do with it. I'd like to see proper gameplay footage before I pass judgement. Sorry, but those little gameplay clips mashed into a trailer definitely don't paint an actual picture.

I was kinda looking forward to this game after the announcement trailer a year back.
But the new smudgier art style and live service aspect of it disappointed me greatly.

So I thought the same thing about the "new" art style so I went back to the original gameplay trailer. Turns out it was always like it is now. Although it may be a bit more pronounced now, but not much. Hell, they even use the same descriptor for the art style back then.

Going back again I even just noticed the original trailer even starts with it being a painting...

Yeah, this art style was there from the beginning.

Knew from the second they hinted at live service this was gonna be nasty.

I think a lot of E3 2021 was disappointing. I’m not a Nintendo fan and I think they had the best showing. Actually brought back exciting announcements instead of phoning it in. Square and Capcom had the worst showcases.

Not going to lie, I really liked the gameplay and it felt a lot like a good Godfall but once it said live service I said nope.
