Tekken x Street Fighter is officially dead as confirmed by the game director and Tekken series producer Katsuhiro Harada. The game was announced long ago.
That's sad to hear but we knew it was inevitable
Yeah, but at least they added a SF character akuma in tekken 7 and Fatal fury character.
That only added to the possibility for me. Because Akuma worked so damn well in tekken 7 i just "knew" it was gonna come true
Yeah. Akuma felt like a working prototype to an actual Tekken X Street Fighter, but if it never happened during the last 2 generations, it was likely not going to happen at all.
@CobraKai My guess from what I remember was that they had a contract. They both do a game with each other. Capcom did there's and namco game fell off the wagon so akuma made it into tekken 7 to feel that contract.
Now do MK vs SF like we’ve been waiting for for 30 years
Aint going to happen. Capcom already said why it wont work
Those are way too different.
Such a shame.
So they barely even worked on it. I wonder what happened.
It sounds like it was cancelled a long time ago when it was at 30% but they are just officially saying it now. I could be wrong but i think years ago he said the issue was keeping the feel of all the Street Fighter characters in the 3D Tekken format. They were having issues porting over all the moves i think. Plus with the other game not selling well it probably lost funding and it was put on hold then Yoshinori Ono left.
I knew Harada was fake
tekken the anime movie was sick
SFxT doing so poorly is the reason TxSF never came to light. I blame Capcom, as usual.
I remember pre-ordering one and it never came out lol. I forgot then gamestop told me i had 62$ from a cancelled pre-order thats when i got a new ps3 controller lol
Glad they finally admitted it.
Too bad. I'm a legacy Tekken and SF player since arcades and I remember how excited I was when Capcom announced SF x Tekken and Namco the opposite, Tekken x SF. I was super involved with Tekken at that time and that was a megaton news for me. And even though SFxTekken was kind of a dud, I still liked it. It was interesting to see how they 'translated' Tekken to SF. I always prefered Tekken mechanics though, so Tekken X SF was always a 'dream come true' fighting game for me.
"If you wanted to see a 3D brawler featuring Street Fighter cast versus Tekken, your only hope is to get SFxT, which is only available on the PS3, Xbox 360, and the PS Vita." My Steam library disagrees, The Playstation version is the best though, since you also get Cole from Infamous as an exclusive character
Called this when this was announced. Tekken players aren't usually SF players. Why would I want to play as Ryu in 3D space? Did EX teach us nothing.
Pretty sure SFIV and V have Ryu in a 3D space... It's 2D gameplay with 3D graphics... Just like EX.
You're right. EX was 2D. I forgot I meant "3D space" as in arena.
Anyone with common sense should have known the game was not releasing, that talk was 2 generations ago.
sad to hear that, but we knew it aint gonna happen.
I want Capcom vs SNK 3
good, it was a stupid concept anyway
That sucks, though considering how well Street Fighter x Tekken worked out. Might have been for the best.
Well, just bring those 30% of finished characters to Tekken 7. No point wasting the work and money spent on using the characters.
Such a shame since Tekken is the ultimate fighting game in my opinion, Street Fighter mixed into it was really intriguing idea. Oh well.
I would rather see Guilty gear/KOF and Tekken/Virtua Fighter.
Honestly this would’ve been a badass fighting game to. My two favorite series colliding, Maybe try it with DOA? But I hope these top three can collaborate together in the near future.
You would have to take a loan to be paying for all the Decievingly Later Content characters right into the next next generation of consoles ie PS7/Xbox Series ZX.
Why so long Harada? Why? People are starting to lose confidence in developers word. Please stop advertising games that are not 50% done at least.
