Demons Souls, Returnal, and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart are all great games and are visually stunning.

Then we have Horizon: Forbidden West and God of War Ragnarok which are likely to set new graphical benchmarks. On top of that Deviation Games and Jade Raymond’s Studio Haven are making PS5 games.

Just to add to your list, ff7r feels oddly next gen!!
Feels like a complete new game

The fur!!!! Crazy graphics from Insmoniac. To Think they achieve this in the first year of the PS5.

SullysCigar34d ago

The fur is beautiful, but I was even more impressed to see the real time reflections in the eyes of NPCs.

For a game with SO MUCH going on at any given moment, they sure didn't scrimp on detail!

It's in every bolt and smashed bit of glass too!

lol I haven't finish up the main story and already want a sequel!!!, yes Rift Apart is that effing AMAZING!!!
Playing at Performance RT and in several points in the game tried to cause as much havok or create as much debris, particle, destruction, etc I can, so I can see if some frame drops, but not a single drop of slowdown saw in these moments, and holy hell more impressive off all that is that all that destruction is physically based, very similar to Returnal or even better, for years and years wanted that physics effects alongside stunning visuals were a default thing in videogames cause they add so much greatness to a game, but only just a few games had some of these effects in the past (mostly PS exclusives Uncharted 4 example), but now with the PS5 it seems this will come true, not only that, that performance hungry eating FX RT is also included, even today with the most expensive PCs out there can struggle to have all these four effects happening at the same time, seriously the PS5 is damn impressive and this just began!

@masterfox no game on pc looks as good as this and we have only just begun

FlameBaitGod33d ago (Edited 33d ago )

Lol ok kid, I'm mostly a PC gamer and we have games that look like this, like

Teflon0231d ago

I game on PC, switch and ps. While I wouldn't be necessarily surprised by something looking as good. I haven't ran into a single game as beautiful and Ratchet tbh. So I'm just curious to what games those are. I'd legit check them out

VariantAEC30d ago

FlameBaitGod doesn’t know what he's talking about. I too also play on PC and right now my Laptop is more powerful than Xbox One X and has better rasterization performance than Xbox Series S only falling far short when pushing RT (because my laptop GPU is still Pascal generation GTX 1070). Regardless games like Gears 5 and FH4 run at 1080p60 and 1440p60 without issue MAXED out. Those games don't look better than R&C:RA.

I can't think of any titles on PC which have better fur rendering not even FFXV with Nvidia GameWorks features enabled. PC is more capable but that ultra powerful rendering ability goes underutilized. Meanwhile PS5 isn't even the most powerful console on paper looking some topical specs but it already has the world's best looking game.

Teflon0229d ago

Yeah that's exactly it. I've played quite a bit on PC for the last 2 years of last gen. Now I play my ps5 a bit more outside stuff like phantasy star and Genshin which I still play on PC. But I definitely know the best games I've played a bit of on PC were pretty much what you named and a few others that look good but I've legit never seen a single PC game look as good as Ratchet at all. Not that it's not possible, just that it's currently not done. I'm using an even more powerful PC while I can't push FFXV at max on 4k at 60 because weird optimization. Alot of games I generally can max at atleast 1440p and sometimes 4k so I don't know.

I definitely think you're 100% right

No ps5 for me but I'd love to play this game. I think once naughty dogs new ip comes along that's going to be best graphics this gen

Aloymetal34d ago

What are you waiting for, try to get one asap. You're missing out.
Good luck!

Godmars29034d ago

Probably like me, waiting for the scalpers to go away...

Father__Merrin34d ago

Well there was no chance at launch in UK and after that the scalping price was ridiculous. So basically I bought a series X together with my PC it does just fine. Il look into grabbing one this xmas

Aussiesummer34d ago

If you try and explore too far you'll fall through the scenery and when that happens it breaks this amazing technical masterpiece illusion to bits.

Silly gameAr34d ago

Is that a bug you saw on youtube or read online somewhere?

Aussiesummer29d ago

Something that happened to me several times.

SurgicalMenace34d ago

Find anything....what game DOESN'T have flaws? Just goofy.

Godmars29034d ago

Think you're looking for early Cyberpunk 2077 articles there mate.

Bathyj34d ago

Trying a bit hard there me thinks. Even open world games eventually have borders. What's your point?

northpaws34d ago

I agree, the developer should spend 10000% more development time to render every planet to full size, so when you get too far in one direction, you just come back from the other side of the map. /s

BlaqMagiq134d ago

So like any other game. Gotcha.

Teflon0231d ago

I'm curious about where. I did find one specific spot where you can legit walk through the wall. But it was a small specific spot I can't even remember where to find. But outside that I've never "walked to far anywhere and I'm the type that runs outside the map for Horizon Zero Dawn 5, times an hour getting sidetracked lmao. Every time I've tried get too far out I hit a invisible wall lol. So you have to be trying real hard to "break immersion" lmao
