much like the Atari VCS these systems are aimed purely at the older crowd relying on a strong sense of nostalgia. While it might be able to offer some new experiences, the vast majority of people that want this thing want it for the old library of games they grew up on. "Gamers" with a capital G? No, not really. But it is very clearly not aimed at gamers, it is aimed at the average family; a device for households that have only ever owned a Wii. It's a neat concept, but it's clearly too simplistic for your average gamer.
Intellivision one of my first consoles, I think it had like pong or tennis built in with the controllers connected to the system. This new thing is definitely for casuals or even small kids it seems. Some neat features though
