It looks like Xbox games are officially getting a new physical box art template moving forward - possibility limited to Xbox Series X titles alone - in order to avoid confusion about which titles are playable on specific consoles.
Nice design but I don't think it's official as they don't have series s listed but I guess that's because it's a digital console
Most probably the reason yeah lol, no reason to display Series S on the box art, because it is potentially false. People will then be picking up disc copies, thinking they can play it on the Series S.
I think you answered your own critique
Not critique more idiotic rambling. Either way it looks good very clean.
Yeah, I can get behind that design. Looks pretty sleek.
Yeah, it gives much more space to the actual artwork. A very nice improvement.
Looks great! I definitely think it helps avoid confusion for the average consumer. I am have heard of people buying disc for a series S console. That's what happens when you have parents and grandparents buying games. This helps make it a little clearer. Plus these are very sleek and clean looking. Whereas the previous ones made some feel they were just buying Xbox One games, these feel more like your buying the new gen and it may happen to also play on Xbox one. They should have done this from the start honestly and I expect them to repackage some older titles with this packaging as well
FH5 cover probably not final, no car on the front and this "Standard" does not belong there.
Where is the better on gamepass sticker? Kinda useless to pay 9 months of gamepass ultimate on a non collectors edition game.
They've got the Series X logo in the top right corner, so why do they need a big white box to also say Series X?
The one in the right corner means that the game is optimized for the Series X. It is likely to go away once they stop supporting the Xbox One.
I see what you're saying but tbh anything is better than what they were just doing lol. You could barely tell if the game was Series X or not smh. and I understand, well its an Xbox One AAAAAND Xbox Series X game, okay I get it, keep the same box art, but if its going to be Series X only, then yeah this needed to happen.
I wouldn't take these images too seriously. The Microsoft Flight Simulator just says Xbox Series X but still has Smart Delivery on it as well. I gave up on XBox case design making sense a long time ago.
I am glad they are changing up the box art to be more clear for consumers and to help distinguish the generation a bit. I hope they indicate Series X on the spine as well. The XOne and Series X games currently blend together on my shelf and since I have all of my games separated by console generations, there is no way for me to distinguish by looking at the color or spine art.
Looks nice but weird they waited 6 months into the generation to do it. Hope the spines still match for display purposes.
They look like those annoying Aussie game boxes. And that Standard looks nausiating and unnecessary, it looks bad.
