The show really wasn't bad—I would say it was solid, actually. They showed a lot of games that I think would really resonate with Xbox gamers. I don't think anyone who loves Xbox thought it was bad. It was a bit too sci-fi/shooter-focused for my tastes, but I definitely think it was a good showing. They leaned heavily on Bethesda for sure, but they can do that—it's their studio now.

For me, FH5 was the highlight. I think it looked phenomenal.

Well paced and not a lot of talking and lots of content, easily the best E3 show by far (not that it was hard to beat Ubisoft and all the other awful shows lol 😆). Forza Horizon 5 - November 9th
Halo Infinite - November (Probably)

Flight Simulator will rate in the 90's Forza Horizon is upper 80's or low 90's, Hades was nominated and won many GOTY awards last year rating 93, Diablo II the king of action-RPGs remastered!, Starfield a new IP from Bethesda Studios!, Psychonauts 2 is a sequels to an upper 80's game, and Halo which has never had a main line game below 83.... Left 4 Dead was also an upper 80's game so expect the same for Back 4 Blood. Yup nothing to see here. XB is boring as hell for the rest of the year.

Looks to me like if you wanted, you could play a really diverse lineup of games (Flight Sim, Platformer, Action-RPGs, Campaign Shooters, MP Shooters, Arcade Racer) every few weeks to the end of the year if you are on XB. And they've already started to pack games into 2022.

Nobody is sweating. I am sure PS owners are just as happy if not happier then XB owners right now. You have to remember that PS has already had Spider-man MM, Sackboy's Adventure, Demon's Souls remake, Returnal, and R&C Rift in Time already as new first party exclusive games.

That leaves Flight Sim, Ascent, Forza, Halo and Sea of Thieves. 90% of those are primarily online focused, which i'm not a fan of.

Hey, have you looked at the Arkane Austin, TX site? Notice they're hiring various senior-level positions for a game? Gee, wonder what it could be? While the other studio is obviously working on Deathloop and already had it delayed.

Can you explain this whole dev cycle thing to me to understand this better? I must be a moron, but it looks like to me they're in the early stages of one game and crunch mode on another.

Oh, hey, you ever think that perhaps Austin Studio was working on new game concepts and finally got to this one? Does that fit into the arena of dev cycles? Or is prototyping concepts and getting them approved by the publisher not a part of that and could involve a lot of going back and forth lasting two years or so?

Welp, they tried their best. Too many cgi trailers for me...I was hoping to see some Hellblade, some legitimate Starfield gameplay, maybe even Everwild. They showed many games and the presentation was great, they just didn't have a whole lot that I'm personally interested in. I don't understand giving a late 2022 release date for Starfield but no description of what the game actually is, no real gameplay....disappointing.

Forza Horizon looked great tho, and Stalker 2.

Most of the games were running in Engine so no CGI but for games that are way off. This press conference was amazing, it is as simple as that... You guys need to quit trying to trash a system that you are never going to purchase for the sake of making yourself feel good because you think your opinion actually matters... I have both new consoles and I know exactly which console is the best hands down... One of them I play every single day - the other one I played 1 time for about 1 hr to try a demo called resident evil village...

i bought returnal for 60€ with a pré reserve discount and after 106 hours and platinum i sold the game for 40€

in the end i played a day One ps5 exclusive for 20€. i Will do the same with ratchet.

@Bladefist - No, it is not 1 Dollar/Euro/Local Currency per month, even if you don't auto renew; I guess you could technically, if you accept multiple months of not having GP while waiting for a new deal to pop. I mean, I can get it cheap for sure, like the recent 3 months for $1. I previously did the same in December 2020, but had to wait until 3 months later to get another deal.

Assuming you play enough of the games included, and are invested in most of the games they get Day 1, then GP is a very good deal even for its normal $10-15 per month. I don't know why people feel the need to quote unrealistic numbers, as that isn't the price most people will ever pay.

I picked up returnal, really liked it, but don’t think I got £69.99 out of it. It’s a major reason for why I picked up a series x last week. Game pass seems like one of the most pro consumer things out there, so far I’m having a great time with it. I hadn’t realised how many great indies are on there. I tell you what though, it’s pretty underwhelming compared to the ps5 UI wise when you switch it on for the first time. But that game pass is awesome. I personally enjoyed the show abs I’m buzzing for a lot of what they showed. The star field trailer was a bit of a joke, but I was expecting a much sooner release date. I need to watch it again tomorrow to have a better look. I’m so excited for bf2042 but I was a little disappointed with the trailer for that as well. Overall I’m super excited for this generation on both platforms. Exciting times all round

Except when said cheap service is packed full of great games, games that came out very recently to games that came out over a decade ago. I honestly don’t see how anything bad can be said about the game pass. Any one slamming it hasn’t taken the time to go and look at the library. Then you missed out on 2 excellent games. I just beat rift apart about 20 mins ago. It is amazing! Hands down the best graphics ever for a video game. Very fun and lits to do. About 80% to my platinum. Only 4 more trophies, then ill probably head back to returnal or maybe FFVII intergrade.

I am honestly shocked at how poor that show was, all hype and no delivery yet again.

I genuinely was excited for this show and had recenently started pricing up Series One consoles on Ebay in anticipation as I felt sure this show would make it seem essential. You know its bad when the thing i was most pumped for was Hades, a game I have already played on Switch and will pick up on PS5 anyway.

I will say that it's nice that XB fans will finally get 3 AAA exclusives this year (Flight Simulator,Forza & Halo) I will say Halo Infinite looks better now & the multiplayer looks nice. For me..overall I thought the show was average. I didn't see any AAA exclusives that I would like to play including no showing of Starfield gameplay just cgi. The only games shown that I do want to play are Far Cry 6 including the indies Hades & The Ascent which are multi-plats. At this point in time there's still no reason for me to buy an XB console.

BC is about old games working on new systems, not new games working on old systems. In order to truly harness the power of a new generation of technology games eventually need to be made exclusively for new systems or we will never see the best results. Granted MS SPECIFICLY said that they would support any first party releases on "last gen" consoles. They seem to have moved away from that as many people predicted. BC is alive and well on the new systems, they just changed their minds over how long to support the "last gen" with new content. IMHO it was the correct decision, the way they just kinda did it, without really saying anything, was not a good move.

Not laughing considering they're supporting Grounded and releasing Psychonauts 2. They're essentially saying, "Hey, that RPG you liked? We're making a sequel. We hope you enjoy that we aren't abandoning it and that we have the funding now to come out and say it before we even have any gameplay to show you."

Edit: Shoot, almost forgot, they're also working on Avowed. That's 4 titles in the queue right now from a studio that used to release one, maybe two, small indie games a year.

A few of the usual suspects are saying it was mostly all cgi. Well I'd say that the majority of the games showed gameplay there was only a few that didn't.
I must have watched a different show to some on here.
Hopefully someone will put a list up of every game shown & Mark the ones that showed gameplay & the ones that didn't.
I loved the show. Gamepass has me locked in for 2 years minimum.

Microsoft needed to push exclusives and they did. No Fable is a bummer, but more Perfect Dark or a Conker or Banjo Kazooie reveal would have brought the house down. It's probably because of that that I personally feel like the overall conference needed to fill a gap that held it back from being great. That gap was probably supposed to be Halo, but until Master Chief fights the team up of the Doom guy and Isabelle of Animal Crossing, I don't care.

6 out of 10. As is usual, most games were shooters, some RPGs and side strollers. Add Forza and that odd snowboarding game and...meh.
That being said - the fact most are coming to Game Pass day 1 is great. At least we won't have to gamble $60 to $70 on any of them.
Unfortunately, where are the action/adventure games?
Where's Xbox's version of a Last of US, or God of War, Zelda BotW, Kena, Little Devil Inside, Ratchet and Clank?
Why does MS ignore games and genres like these?
I can only play so many FPS games before they all blend together.
So - Game Pass = great value
Game diversity = fail

I'll add to the general chorus, I guess. It wasn't a bad show, or anything, but I really was hoping for something more. Just something to really catch my eye. Personally, nothing really did that. I'm glad I can play Yakuza LaD on my PC since I snagged GP for $1 recently, but mostly just felt like "oh, that's nice" the whole way through.

Curious to see what the new Arkane game is actually like, same for Starfield, but those are both interesting due to the mystery - the lack of info on gameplay means they could kind of be anything, and the idea of a game can sometimes be more powerful than whatever a game becomes. Hopeful for them, though.

And truly hopeful for whatever MS has coming down the pipe with all these new acquisitions, and their commitment to having a new game out every quarter. Hopefully this means there are exciting things coming in the future. It has always kind of been "wait 'til next E3" with MS, but this time...I kind of think this might be the time that actually means something lol.

Cool conference but still saw nothing First Party wise for THIS YEAR that really screams YOU MUST BUY XBOX SERIES X compared to Sony's offering.

Just buy a PC for Xbox Game Pass and PS5 and you're set. 2022 looks promising though for Xbox especially with Starfield and STALKER 2.

I'm not interested in Series X at all. My main driver will be PS5 because I love Sony exclusives. They deliver generation after generation. I'm all about God of War, GT R&C etc but I'm thinking next year I'll probably get a Series S just for Gamepass. I've always liked the Forza Horizon series but that's about as far as it goes on the Xbox side so to me Series S makes more sense because it's an inexpensive way to play the games I want to play on GP. The PS5 sits under our TV in the living room, and I plan on the S going in a spare room.

I think that is the point that MS is trying to make, you don't HAVE to buy a new Xbox to enjoy MS offerings, that is just one option, the best option if you are a serious gamer, but not everyone they are trying to reach is a "serious gamer". PS is catering to the "serious gamer" crowd and if that works for you, great! It makes sense for MS to pivot. As the Sony fanboys here have been screaming for ever, Sony has been kicking MS's butt for years. The numbers don't lie Sony "won" the last gen. So is MS supposed to just keep going with the same losing format?? They are trying something new, appealing to more casual gamers while offering options that will also satisfy the more "serious gamers" out there. To be honest, the real hardcore gamers have both systems, because, well, I never really understood that, but many do. Only time will tell if this is a good approach, but I give MS credit for at least trying something new.

To me this show was so so. Just seems like a typical Xbox conference with too much of the same style. Nothing stood out to me. Bethesda hasn’t improved the show quality too much either but it certainly helped. The new forza looked great.

Ok I'm 22 minute in and all I can say is gaming has gone to the next level. SOT pirates of the Caribbean looks dope. Battlefield.... like holy crap pure chaos. First BF I ever wanted to play. Halo infinite MP looks super fun and amazing. Gamers recorded clips is gonna stuff of legend, did you see then combos!!! Back4blood bruh....

Another below average conference from Microsoft. I'm starting to think they're not lying when they hype up their conference year after year, they really think what they got is exciting. Starfield? With the big deal made about it ("25 years in the making") very underwhelming. With a big bloated soulless company like Microsoft running xbox its no wonder they remain clueless. Remember the 360 days when they first showed gears, thats what xbox needs to get back to maybe bring back that management lol.

Damn, flight Sim might have the best graphics of all time. Just gorgeous. Forza Horizon too my goodness. Forza undisputed best racer. These other racers need to step their game up. Thwy added a custom ganetype!!!! It'll now become more than just a racer. Idk how 343 pulled off 120fps while maintaining good graphics. I think imma have to upgrade my TV lol. And pleeeeease give us a mission where we floating in space like that. Why did MS do a bundle with it? I wonder if Redfall is like Apex legends or is it a campaign CoOp game

Forza isn't the undisputed racer though. GT is a much more recognized and utilized brand in the automotive industry. It's definitely a fun arcade racer but that's about where it's reign stops.

It was an ok showing from Microsoft. There was nothing mind blowing being presented or at the scale of what we saw with Ratchet and Clank. We did learn something major though. It seems Starfield and other Bathesda titles will be exclusive to Xbox so us Playstation fans need to start thinking about getting an Xbox or capable PC when those games are finally released. Assuming the games are at the quality we expect from Bathesda with no scummy microtransactions.

I felt much of what they showed was 3rd party, and the first party stuff, I really didn't feel like I was missing out by not having an Xbox, I was surprised they showed so little of Halo. If anything they pushed Game Pass more, which is great for those who use it.

I just finished skipping threw it. So that was much better from Microsoft. However, It was still a bang average show. It just felt like a massive advert for the rental service gamepass if sony did something like this for PS Now they would be crucified. Back 4 Blood on Gamepass is pretty cool though but how long for?

Forza as always looked pretty damn sweet and I can't wait to buy it. Yer I may get Gamepass for £1 a month but games like that deserve my money. Halo don't interest me and still looks a bit rough. Then a bunch of 3rd party titles.

Better than last E3. Now I just hope Sony do a state of play in the next few weeks.

A solid showcase in my opinion, the Halo showing was a massive improvement, games for every type of player, Horizon 5 looks excellent, and 27 of the games shown, gamepass Day 1.

Glad they did not show trailers for games that will not launch this year and next, that states Forza Motorsport, Hellblade 2, Avowed, Fable are most probably 2023 games.

So all in all, that gives xbox games for the next 36 months :p

Well, its clear now that I only need to buy one system for this current generation. That saves me money since I always get all the consoles every generation. Thank you MS for making it ever so clear. This show clear catered to their type of gamers to which I am no longer one. XBOX fans will love this show and it did have some excitement. For those of us not that excited, GAMEPASS on PC would be an option in 2022. So what was exciting?

1. Starfield - looks really good if its in-game. No actual gameplay was shown. 11-11-22
2. Stalker 2 - graphically looks great. We got gameplay!! Seems like Metro Exodus 2.0
3. Halo MP - free to play! MP gamers look like Halo will deliver. No SP gameplay
4. Flight Simulator - Okay. Fighter jets coming. Cool.
5. Forza 5 - Great graphics. Fun game. More of the same.

Then the not so good
1. Contraband - no gameplay; all cinematics
2. Halo SP - no gameplay; all cinematics
3. Redfall - no gameplay; all cinematics
4. No Perfect Dark
5. No Fable
6. No Sensua 2
7. No Avowed
8. Launch exclusives of mutliplatform games - lame
9. No great new SP francise
10. Nothing that screamed next-gen
11. 2021 will be lame since best games coming in 2022

Overall Decent - no enough to entice anyone to buy an XBOX. However, just enough to make XBOX gamers happy.
