Peter Fabiano has announced his departure from the company. He oversaw development of recent instalment Resident Evil Village, as well as Resident Evil 3 and 7
why i feel he was responsible for the whole REvil 7-8- lose identity fiasco and Capcom finally sees it and fired the guy ? ..as it wasnot that enough he oversaw RE3 Remake also (which ended in complete failure) also i have an itch that Capcom numbers about RE7-8 are inflated
You mean RE7, the game that revitalised and refreshed, bringing back the survival horror roots and simultaneously took the two biggest, and bravest risks that paid off massively for it, chiefly making it FPS and then porting it to VR, which made it easily the most frightening game experience in existence? You know, horror: the thing that the series is famous for? That RE7? Now, all we need is for them to give us RE8 in VR and all will be fine.
it being fps and vr is not roots and why I hated both 7 and 8... good riddance.
@give ...i can t argue with you....you just never played the original REvils .....it is obvious ..
P.T did all that before REVII and it wasn’t even a full game
I'm gonna get alot of hate for this RE7 was solid I'm right there with the general public 8/10 But RE8 is pretty bad I'm at a 6/10 on it and think it's a extremely lackluster experience. The RE2 remake has been the best RE game released in a long time
@-Foxtrot P.T. had no VR support, if it had, it would have been the most terrifying experience in any medium without competition. VR adds so much to RE7.
I'm not surprised by this. RE8 didn't even feel like a resident evil game. The game was still good though. So what's next for Resident Evil is the big question 🤔
A reviewer summed it up perfectly on YouTube in my opinion, think it was Alex from Angry Joe If you take it as a survival horror it’s not a good survival horror, ammo is everywhere especially thanks to the Duke, you don’t feel at a disadvantage, it’s not as scary as there’s only a few scary moments If you take it as a action game, it’s not great, it’s missing things and you can find better games in the action genre It’s just alright
@Foxtrot I totally agree with you and Ammo was everywhere
So go play on harder difficulties lmfao. You guys are desperate
@Fox I disagree, maybe because I'm harder difficulty, but couldn't find ammo for life of me except the useless handgun. Magnum had a total of like 12 shots the entire campaign for me.
@Soldierone Oh I don't doubt at a harder difficulty it will be harder to find ammo and the like BUT the base difficulty, the standard / normal one the majority of people would use, especially first play through wise should be what we take it from We can't just say "Oh too easy? Too much ammo? No scary or tense enough? Then put it on Nightmare mode"...that's just giving Capcom an excuse, you can bitch and moan about it but it's true. You are literally giving them a free pass. The hardest mode should be extremely tense and on the edge of your seat worthy, a real challenge, not just what you'd expect from the base mode.
If ammo is everywhere why not play on hard then? And not to be rude, but he left the company on his own accord for a senior position at Bungie, he is doing this for a pay raise and a promotion to further his career. Capcom did not force him out the game is considered a success
It was strange, RE8 during the castle segment was everything I wanted the game to be. But as soon as you leave the castle it became RE4. Not that it was a terrible thing, but for me it lost the creepy factor that RE7 maintained throughout almost all the game.
[email protected] "you never played the originals". Aye, OK, kiddo.
RE7 may be different than most other RE titles but you can’t deny it’s one of the most successful. It’s known to be the scariest to a lot of people and was hugely successful.
You mean the first good RE games in 20 years? Lol
@Sonic-and-Crash; You couldn’t be further from the truth.
RE8 is probably the best game I've played this whole year so far. That and Monster Hunter. Capcom has been killing it.
Lmfao both games have sold capcom millions of copies and brought the company success as they were hemorrhaging money before. Talk about a cold take
"you just never played the original REvils" Hahaha. I love it. Someone doesn't agree with you, so it must mean they didn't play the original RE games. Its also absolutely hysterical that you're so convinced its a bad game that you refuse to believe it sold well, so Capcom must have inflated their numbers lol. Well I can tell you I've been playing RE since the original. Back when they first came out. And I have no problem with what they did in RE7. Yes, they made it a first person perspective. No, it didn't have zombies. But zombies were never the point of RE, and anyone that says otherwise just doesn't understand what RE is really about. So, aside from changing the perspective to first person, please enlighten me. What wasn't RE about it? Because I can make a long list of things that were exactly like the original games.
Oh phew was worried I might miss the stupidest take on the internet today... thanks for not letting that happen!
*" joins Silent Hill project "*
is that even happening still? seems like every year we hear rumours and speculation about it, but never an actual game.
@Michiel1989 Don't know. Might soon become a meme.
me asking it probably confirmed its a meme by now ;)
Can’t say I’m sad about that. Don’t get me wrong, I love RE7 and RE8, but I want RE2 Remake to be the blueprint for the future of the series and an actual connection to the lore and not magneto villains and mold people.
Imagine if every single RE game were the same thing: trapped in a building shooting zombies with a 3rd person over the shoulder (or locked camera) view.. It would get really old, really quickly. In fact, it did get old really quickly.
I dunno, man. Like I hear you, but at some time I’m a fan of Resident Evil games for being Resident Evil games. I guess I’m one of those crazy people that doesn’t need the franchise to change drastically. I felt like even though RE2 R and RE3 R were Remakes they still felt fresh to me and I like these games for the B.O.W. And viral outbreaks with a Wesker villain. I enjoyed the hell out of RE8 but they could’ve made that game into a different franchise like they did with Devil May Cry and I wouldn’t have ever known it was a Resident Evil game.
Shit takes like this is why the franchise the way it is today , this is why we don't have nice things in gaming because of some idiots who thinks "CHANGE" can be forced on everything and be blindly labeled as an evolution instead of IMPROVING on the same style , why is it hard for people to understand that change not always the solution
Hopefully they get the guy who did the RE2 Remake or let that team do the main games after the remakes are done
Not just after the remakes. They can start immediately in my book
I’ll admit that I stopped playing resident evil on 5. It was my last one. It started to get so action oriented. I was glad to see the slower pace and getting back to the “fear” elements of resident evil of old but was never a fan of the first person camera. I have 7 & it just does not feel like resident evil to me. Can’t get into it. If it had any other name/lineage I could probably mentally make do I guess. Anyway, hopefully they find a happy medium and get the characters we care about back to driving the car instead of these other folks.
After 2 shit games who would want to work for these idiots anymore? "why i feel he was responsible for the whole REvil 7-8- lose identity fiasco and Capcom finally sees it and fired the guy ? ..as it wasnot that enough he oversaw RE3 Remake also (which ended in complete failure)" If you think resident evil 3 was a failure your dumber than this guy is.
RE8 shipped over 4 million copies in couple weeks, which is something a shitty game of this genre wouldn't sell.
RE7 pulled that franchise out of a hole.
Hahaha another shitty cold take
Lmao he is just one of the multiple producers of the game, not the creator, director or designer. As a producer why would you stay with a company for 13 years? Not even someone successful like Jade Raymond stayed at Ubisoft. And people act like he is leaving because of the games he was involved in. Just goes to show the confirmation bias that you want RE to fail because of your bias to bring RE back to the dark ages and fail. First it was "oh no RE4 lost it's soul bring back the isometric adventure aspect". Nekmnit RE2 Remake is untouchable and now it's all "Oh no RE7&8 lost it's soul bring back the third person aspect".....lol
I don't understand how people are still salty about RE4. It's still one of the greatest games ever made, easily.
The story was butchered though. If people hate “mold and magneto people” in RE, it’s all thanks to the way paved by RE4.
While I don't think this is as devastating as one of the lead writers or directors leaving, a producer leaving is still a really big deal and it kind of worries me.
It's not unusual for devs to leave after a project has shipped. He may have got a better offer somewhere else, he may just want to do something new, there could be many reasons. His games were successful.
RE7 was a totally amazing game that revived the series. Great achievement.
Yes! Finally end this first person RE bullshit
A decision for 1st or 3rd person wouldnt come down to one person dude.
Dam 7 and 8 are my favorite resi games. Curious what route 9 will go in now.
I just want first person view to remain an option.
It was all but Resident evil... Great game but so far to call it Resident evil... Only thing in common was Chris Redfield and that is it
This gives me a slight hope on current Capcom to wake up from the white-washing / woke shit , 100% expect a better change on all Capcom games in general not just RE , hopefully stylized character designs will be back too
