great month for gaming and I am glad to see we are finally getting the ps5 version of the ff7 remake

If you have a PS+ account (at least in the Pacific/Asia area - includes Australia/New Zealand) the game was free. The trouble is the game is 90GB in size so you really do need the M.2 expansion enabled if you have a PS5. Even if I want to play it on my PS4 I will need to setup a 1TB or more Hard Disk Drive (or more expensive and not justified SSD) since I am close to filling up my 1TB HDD on my PS4.

I can download the game any time for my PS4 although I have played and enjoyed the demo but unfortunately I have too many games (many are free or cheap) that I am still playing. The FF7 remake is still on my to do list as is Horizon Zero Dawn Forbidden West when it comes out.

Capcom reveals its PC game sales overshadow console, and it's only growing

The earnings reports of Capcom's Fiscal year 2024 showcase the growth of PC over console, with 60% of game sales being made on the former.

What’s interesting is that, given how well their games sell, it’s very likely most of them fall into the 25/75 revenue split bracket. The larger ones, like Monster Hunter, are in the 20/80 bracket.

So even accounting for the vastly superior regional pricing on PC, I wouldn’t be surprised if revenue-wise from digital sales, both platforms are close, or if PC is ahead as well.
