Looks like a dual shock. Just another PlayStation controller.

But who cares if Dual Sense doesn't work on PS3 or PS4? I don't see gamers complaining that a PS1 controller doesn't work on PS4. Or that a PS3 controller doesn't work on PS2. OG Xbox controller doesn't work on Xbox One. GameCube controller doesn't work on Switch. SNES controller doesn't work on N64.

All this nonsense about nothing because Dual Sense doesn't work on PS4 or that DS4 doesn't work for PS5 games. Why all of a sudden it's about Sony's controller compatibility? Where's the conversation about other system's controllers if it's such an issue?

Darkborn1455d ago

Exactly. It's all about being mad at playstation all the time.

ApocalypseShadow1455d ago

All my years I've never seen gamers expect old controllers to work on new consoles or new controllers to work on old ones.

Sony makes the excellent Dual Sense and you got gamers expecting it to work on an old console natively or PC. It would be like for me to expect PSVR to work on PS3. These gamers are being ridiculous.

Sony started offering free games with PS Plus, people got frustrated until Xbox offered the same. Microsoft now offers cross gen controllers and people complain until Sony does the same. It’s just competition and competitors offering better options to the consumer then the consumer wanting those options from other producers. Fact is requiring two dual sense controllers to play the Ps5 version of a game that literally doesn’t use any of the dual sense features is flagrantly anti consumer. I got It Takes Two to play coop and have to play the PS4 version on my PS5 just so I can use a PS4 controller so I don’t have to shell out another 70 dollars for a new cont. Not to mention the plastic waste saved by ‘recycling’ controllers into next gen.

GameCube controllers work on the Switch with the correct adapters.

With an adapter. It's not standard. I have been playing since pong. I have never expected to play a new controller on an old system or an old controller on a new one.

It's ridiculous to expect that. Such entitled gamers nowadays.

Ratty1455d ago

I'm not sure what you're getting so worked up about. It only states that the prototype works on a PS3. Which is an interesting fact I think.

ApocalypseShadow1455d ago (Edited 1455d ago )

No. The narrative nowadays and an article was posted on n4g that Dual Sense doesn't work on PS4 like it's supposed to. Dual Sense has features that PS4 games can't use. Dual Shock 4 has features like a touch pad that PS3 can't use. The ignorance with kids.

Did my Genesis controller work on my Dreamcast? Hell no. And who cares if it didn't. Use your head.

Sony do the worst controllers, very poor quality. I've been put off buying a PS5 due to how bad the Dualshock 4 is.
