The Destiny 2 Vault of Glass Raid Race will make its debut in May 2021, giving dedicated teams of Guardians the opportunity to be recognized as World First.
I'm a huge fan of Destiny. Day 1 Destiny beta and thousands of hours across both games type of players. I will be the first to tell you that Destiny has always had a content *and* identity problem. In all my years of playing Destiny, I have only recommended it to a handful of friends. I couldn't in good faith recommend that much recycled content for the price that it costs just to keep playing it. That said, this one raid in particular is beloved by the community and is definitely a welcome addition to the game. That and last season was pretty good. I am a PC player now though and I worry how well VoG holds up.
I think Bungie is making a mistake by not having a Destiny 3 planned. Despite what a lot of people on this site think about Destiny, it still has a large following and earns good money years after launch. But I'm not sure how long that will hold up now that the new consoles are out. Once these consoles become readily available and more and more games come out that are not cross gen, Destiny is going to start looking very dated in comparison. I can't imagine people would keep paying $30 on a seasonal basis to keep playing an outdated game that keeps recycling content.
