Xbox Series X|S Total Sales: 4,814,160

Xbox One Total Sales: 4,255,302

Xbox Series S/X doing better than Xbox One in the same timeframe, even with massive consoles shortage and so far with zero first party games released.

Things will only get better in the coming months. :)

Jin_Sakai27d ago (Edited 27d ago )

Two consoles combine barely outselling a single console then didn’t sell well to begin with doesn’t sound that great. Shortage or not I wouldn’t consider that much of an achievement.

PS5 has sold over 8 million and ahead of PS4 “one of the best selling consoles of all time” by 358,070 during a shortage. Now that’s an achievement.

DJStotty27d ago

"PS5 has sold over 8 million and ahead of PS4 “one of the best selling consoles of all time” by 358,070 during a shortage."

But Jin, with PS5 you have 2 consoles just outselling the PS4, so does that not sound that great?

Just give praise where it is due, xbox have done a great job in releasing a console that is and will outsell their previous entry, now that is an achievement.

DaveZero27d ago

And here we go, can you not just jump into an Xbox thread without mentioning Sony.
What is wrong with the fanboys that are so desperate to have there beloved justification for there precious Sony console.

mattyhaxxx226d ago

So precious they spend all their time bashing Xbox instead of playing all their amazing games

"Two consoles combine barely outselling a single console then didn’t sell well to begin with doesn’t sound that great. Shortage or not I wouldn’t consider that much of an achievement."

Lol. You forgot the lack of strong first party games. Zero in fact. And yes, it´s a true achievement all things considered.

"PS5 has sold over 8 million and ahead of PS4 “one of the best selling consoles of all time” by 358,070 during a shortage. Now that’s an achievement."

Lol. Who said anything about Playstation? That´s your insecurity showing. XD

Jin_Sakai26d ago

“But Jin, with PS5 you have 2 consoles just outselling the PS4“

It’s the exact same console minus a disk drive. Xbox Series S is a completely different console and much cheaper. Big difference.

Jin_Sakai26d ago

“So precious they spend all their time bashing Xbox instead of playing all their amazing games“

Only takes a few minutes to write a comment. Pretty sure I have plenty of time to play amazing games.

Hardly a shortage.

You can buy a series S easily in the UK. It’s been available at Amazon for weeks. MS have the cheapest console on the market and are barely outselling the Xbox one which still had the weight around Its neck which was kennect at this point.

They are no where near PS5 numbers which IS actually out of stock everywhere. Both editions

DaveZero27d ago

Funny but I couldn't or can't buy one unless it's from the Microsoft store itself.

TheProblem27d ago

@Dave

Amazon. Like I said

I mean it’s there right now. All you have to do is look…..

iplay1up226d ago

Yes you can. The Xbox Series X, basic system is just $1,200 right now on Amazon. I can buy a PS5 for that price too.

StoneyYoshi26d ago

@DaveZero

I was just at one of my local Walmarts on Friday and saw 5 Series S consoles still sitting on the shelf with no other console options in site. Same with our local Target... Series S in stock but no PS5's or Series X systems.

Mr_cheese26d ago (Edited 26d ago )

Just checked the UK amazon site and you're right, buy today, delivery tomorrow £249.99 for the S

It’s currently the fastest selling Xbox console

roadkillers26d ago

Better than the 360? CoD2 was amazing

DeusFever26d ago

The Xbox 360 didn’t start with a strong position. Microsoft had low marketshare and launched the 360 with a weak lineup. What really helped was a year later when the PS3 launched at an insanely high price and then in 2007 when Halo 3 dropped.

FallenAngel198426d ago

Xbox One was the previous fastest selling Xbox console at this point in time

darthv7227d ago

Bu... bu... waverider says its doing worse than xbox one. How can this be?

DJStotty27d ago

I'm surprised waverider has not already give us an in-depth downplay assessment.

waverider26d ago

I already did. The last weeks xbox s, x is selling 80k average. Its worst then the xbox one.

waverider26d ago

Dude, its not last month. Its this month. Where they are selling 80k weekly, because they are sales numbers are droping. The xbox one sold more then 80k.

darthv7226d ago

Dude, they can only produce so many and they sell every one they make. If you are so doom and gloom over the XS leading the XBO by 558k units then where is your same doom and gloom over at the PS5 only leading the PS4 by a paltry 358k?

Gamer7526d ago

Considering that according to people on here the xbox series consoles are sitting on shelves everywhere 80k aint bad for something that apparently isn't being brought by anyone and is just taking up shelf space

Rude-ro27d ago (Edited 27d ago )

It has not sold as well..
The funny part is that I am a comment who’s zero facts can not be countered with what I am saying.
Links to facts... or stfu

DJStotty27d ago

"It has not sold as well.."

Xbox themselves have stated it is outselling xbox one, why is it so hard to believe?

waverider26d ago (Edited 26d ago )

Dude, the problem is that your memory is really bad. Facts Xbox one was launch only 13 countries... Xbox Series X in 37. A console that is selling 80k average weekly Worldwide.... Why does the PS5 just sold more 358k then the PS4. Are you really comparing. The biggest console seller of playstation and the PS5 is beating it... The Xbox one got the worst numbers from microsoft. Its just crazy that the PS5 is selling more then the PS4... You still dont understand that with this kind of numbers. The PS5 will have more then double the install base of the series S and X combined by the end of the FIRST year... Double....

Christopher26d ago

It's not. XSX released in more countries *and* XBO had the forced on Kinect at launch that made it cost way more than it should have.

DJStotty26d ago (Edited 26d ago )

@waverider

My memory is fine, let me test it?

Xbox one in 13 territories - Nov 2013
Xbox one worldwide - Sept 2014

Am i good so far?

Xbox one launch, DRM fiasco, stock piling up on store shelves from launch, all year round.

Still with me?

Xbox Series S and X, sold out more or less worldwide, 6-7 months after launch, already outselling xbox one, and outpacing in the launch window.

Funny thing is, i did not compare PS4 or 5 sales, nor did i mention what is beating what, you have just gone on another justification/denial/downplay rant.

Like it or not, the Series is going to outsell the xbox one, it already is, and once stock is readily available and games are released, it will only accelerate.

In December 2014, (2 months after the worldwide launch and holiday sales) total xbox one (worldwide) sales stood at around 10.5 million, so as long as series s|x sell more than that come december this year (7 months) they are still selling more lol

DJStotty26d ago (Edited 26d ago )

@christopher

"It's not. XSX released in more countries"

Regardless, at this moment in time, more units have been sold when compared to the xbox one in the 6 months from launch, it does not matter how many countries the xbox one was sold in, the hard facts are it is ahead of xbox one.

Let's wait until Sept 2021, and then compare the sales, then we can align it with the worldwide launch of xbox one.

And on point, xbox one was launched in the 13 main markets for xbox, so even if they had a worldwide launch, the difference in numbers would be negligible.

Maybe take in what your spitting and follow your own advice.

darthv7226d ago

"It has not sold as well.." you are right. It has sold better.

XS leads the XBO by 558k units while the PS5 leads the PS4 by 358k.

Pricey26d ago

Given how awful the xbox one launch was. It would be embarrassing not to sell faster than it.
