In a gaming landscape dominated by lengthy, drawn-out stories, Resident Evil Village goes against the grain, offering something different.
Agreed. Happy that Kena Bridge of Spirits is also going to be short.
I can't wait for Kena! Off topic Returnal is a short game too if you don't die 😁
why are you happy about that? Isnt Kena supposed to be and adventure game? well anyways thanks for the heads up now i know not to waste my money
Not everyone has the time, also most games are filled with pointless crap just to make the game longer. I would rather have 10 hours of awesome than meh!! Oh and play Vanquish that's a prime example of quality over quantity.
What defines short? My playthrough was about 12.5 hours and I think that was a healthy chunk of content. The game told a solid story and there was a lot to do and see without any pointless padding.
Game was designed for speedruns, but also provided just enough exploration too. Especially if you wanted to know all the juicy bits. For instance, there's a nice little tidbit about the enemies you face in the castle if you explore and read the files. Really hard to find that kind of balance in a game.
I agree. Well said. I am one who put in nearly 12-15 hours my first playthrough, solely due to exploration revisiting areas, and side content, to make sure I didn't miss anything. Now, going through speed runs, which take less than 3 hours for this game. It is a nice balance indeed.
16 hours in the first playthrough lol. That second lord boss was scary as hell, I spent an extra hour thinking there was stuff to find. Whoever designed that level deserves props. 6 hours on the second playthrough, getting most challenges and infinite ammo and gun upgrades. 2 hours in third speed run platythrough. I'm only dreading a knife run, simply because it seems more annoying than fun. That should take less than 3 hours though.
Always quality over quantity, hell Journey is only like 2hrs, still a better experience than most games i've played. I don't care if it's short, so long as it's good.
Exactly. Journey is one of the greatest games I have ever played.
It's also why I wont pay full price for it.
It’s not short :))
I don’t know why but I am just having a really hard time finding motivation to finish this game. I am at the factory have logged 10 1/2 hours and find it no where near as good as 7 or RE2 remake. Maybe action RE just isn’t my thing anymore.
Didn't feel short at all
