Today Cloud Imperium Games released another new video of the growing space simulator Star Citizen.
I know it's not fair to put it like this, but it's amazing in its own right that they needed $358,000,000.00 to have missiles in the game.
No game does it's a scam. Only people who defend this game are the fools who invested, granted that's a lot of fools. But it's just a scam
Not a scam. Just the classic case of over ambition and bad management. They wouldn't constantly increasing the size of the teams, hiring 3rd part devs to assist on work, and just pouring millions and millions more into the project. Hiring famous voice actors, which definitely cost them. Revenue had from the ships dwindles basically every year. If they weren't legitimately trying to release this thing, they'd have just jumped ship, cutting their dev team down, and took the money and run. At the end of the day, I feel this guy simply had giant ideas. This was to be his magnum opus. Now he just doesn't know how to bring it to fruition, and already spent large amounts of money, and years of man hours, on way too many ideas. That's just my take.
That's a really weird thing to say. 1) They've had missiles in the game for ages. Since the beginning. This is a new feature to add an 'operator mode' for missiles, as well as overhauls how they fly and track the target. ie they have fuel, difference stages of flight etc. 2) Even if they didn't have missiles until now, the statement 'they needed x amount of funding to have this feature' still doesn't make sense... That satement would depend entirely on how essential missiles are, how much of a priority they are.
This thing will either end up one of the most amazing experiences had in gaming, or one of the biggest flops in gaming. I'm just here for the ride.
LMAO 🤣😀 The game will never live up to the hype. Will be outdated when it actually releases, which will probably be during PS6 and whatever the next Xbox will be called.
I saw the beginning of that video and it looks like the ships being attacked aren't taking damage. If anyone watched the rest of the video, is that true?
At the very beginning they seem to be shooting on the ship's shields. The color will change depending on how much power the shields have left, from blue down to red. Some weapons can easier penetrate shields than others. The ships right now have health pools in different parts of them, this is intended to change to a more physics-based damage model in the future(similar to "Next Car Game" aka "Wreckfest") if I've understood things correctly.
Cool, glad they are adding more to the game.
