The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki (PS4) Review | VGChartz

VGChartz's Thomas Froehlicher: "Although it only partially fixes Falcom's woes in terms of story pacing, Kuro no Kiseki is nonetheless a journey full of wonders. The stellar cast is a pure blessing, not to motion the great level of character development and interaction. The renewed universe is incredibly rich for a first game in a new chapter, with compelling battles, diverse guests, and game mechanics that keep the player entertained. And there are clear visual improvements over the Cold Steel series, with a notable leap in the quality of the animations, which are stunning if not glamorous. Kuro no Kiseki represents, at its fullest, that invaluable joy of diving into a new world."

NISA need to either pick up the pace (and seriously, a lot faster) or someone who can release these games in a timely manner need to take over instead.

Seraphim698d ago

not sure this is necessarily a NISA issue. From what I've read Falcom doesn't even allow localization to start until the game is complete. So that's an obvious issue that delays localization. On top of that there's A LOT of dialog to translate and record. I doubt that has much to do with it but still something to consider. We have Trails from Zero dropping end of September and what, 3 other titles being localized atm for release in '23 to fill that Tails void.

I'm with you though as the Trails series has become some of my favorite RPGs and easily a favorite series. I also appreciate how Falcom decided to go action combat while allowing players to play w/ classic turn based if they want. I suspect I'll mainly play turn based but we'll see how action is. Perhaps it will win me over anymore. However there's just fewer and fewer, especially solid-great, turn based RPGs each generation. While I love Ys and many other action rpg's, turn based are still the bees knees and I need more great turn based RPGs releasing.

@Seraphim

Just curious, have you finished all the Cold Steel games? Do you have some favorite characters from that series? Who would you romance Rean Schwarzer with?

RedDevils698d ago

I'm not sure why almost every Japanese publisher manage to global release same date but not with NISA. Always have to wait a year to have Western version.

Actually if it were just one year wait that'll be fine. But it usually 3-4 years behind.
