@CrimsonWing69 Games prices have historically increased every couple console generations. There's no reason to expect an arbitrary increase to $80 or $90 this gen, that's just dumb. You might not pay it now but you'll pay it later if you want to keep playing games. All you're doing is hurting the developers that release good games early in this gen, disincentivizing sequels/DLC and quality next gen content. That's what your vote is actually doing.

There haven't been many next gen/ PS5 exclusive titles, but Demon's Souls and Returnal are priced consistently so I don't know WTF you're talking about.

Entitlement is what it is. It's weird to me because here in Canada people didn't stop gaming because the games prices went from $60 to $80 within 2 years DURING the PS4 Xone gen lol. I think you'll find a lot of us who are complaining are not US citizens. To put in perspective the price hike in the UK has made the games $98.47 (£70) a pop. They were generally £50 towards end of last gen $70.38. That is a significant rise.

The price is even higher when you consider special editions and micro transactions have not gone away on a majority of titles. So yeah. I am in the camp that the price was too high and am still yet to buy a first party game on my PS5 due to this.

I pre ordered both Resident Evil Village along with Ratchet for a total of £94.81 with free delivery. So this works out at £47.40 per game. You need to know the cheaper UK game websites.

The Game Collection - Offer Games - Simply Games - Shopto - 365games - to name but a few sites ----- use whichever is offering the best deals etc at the best time and take advantage of which site is offering additional money off by way of - say a 10% off discount voucher code that you apply at checkout etc. Sometimes these sites offer money off if it's your first purchase, so if you already have an account, create a new one and take advantage. You also need to strike while the iron is hot & pre order at the right time, as the prices fluctuate on these sites.

I've had mine since day one and I have never NOT felt that it has been everything Sony promised it would be. I seriously have no complaints! Since I got PS5, I have platinumed Astro's Playroom, Spider-Man Ultimate, Spider-Man Miles Morales, Bugsnax, and Ghost of Tushima. I benefitted from the fact that I had not yet played Ghost of Tsushima and Spider-Man on PS4. So my first experience with those games WAS on PS5 with all the graphic and performance bells and whistles. So to me, those games felt every bit as "next gen" as Demon's Souls and Astrobot. Playing Spider-Man and Miles Morales with Dualsense features, no loading, 60fps, and with ray tracing was awesome! Playing Ghost of Tsushima at 60fps with almost no loading was awesome. The mere fact that these games exist on PS4 didn't lessen the impact they had on me playing them on PS5 whatsoever. That's why I'm not concerned whatsoever whether any of these games are ONLY PS5 or on both because I am fully confident that the PS5 experience will be superior regardless.

Lets hope Sony make some updates to support 1440p native, and more 120hz support. Also - would really love if sony allowed you to "copy" games from cold storage instead of only allowing you to move them from cold storage. That is a huge problem for me because I have two PS5's and don't want to have to download the game a separate time to my second PS5 in my game room. Considering datacaps with ISP's a copy feature would be really nice. I do realize I have some very niche issues owning two PS5's, but I think there have to be others out there who share my gripes about PS5. If those features are added, it will start to look more like the revolution I was expecting. Both of these features just work on my Xbox, and to me it seems like it should just be a next-gen feature standard.

Copying games would be a way to duplicate games. You can have a separate SSD for each console and download them on each, but to copy from one machine to another and retain it on the SSD? That's a massive no-no for cybersecurity/licensing control

I don't really think its a major security risk to be able to copy games from a cold storage SSD to your internal drive. It works on Xbox without any issues and generally speaking, there have been less security related incidents on Xbox over time than there have been with Playstation. I don't see what the security risk is of being able to copy vs move a game from cold storage to an internal drive, especially when those drives are being formatted using both Sony and Microsofts custom file systems that are not readable by a Windows machine, and only allow reads and writes to the drive if they are legitimate games that are on your console. Digital licenses are redeemed by you being logged in to your account, so if you haven't purchased the key for the game, the games are also not functional. I legitimately would like to understand the security risk if you have time to respond.

I think from the start it felt next gen. Astrobot was perfect to show that beside spec, it got a next gen gamepad and it got a ui super fast. Something that was so slow on the ps4. Their games are impressive. Miles morales is excelent and now having fun with returnal. Sony just delivers. Thats the reality.

Are you guys for real? Next gen feel? Sure both consoles have excellent QoL changes that make it hard to go back to older consoles, so yeah I agree to an extent on that front. Sony is also missing a lot of "Next Gen" features, no SSD support. No Vrr support. no 1440p option, mediocre BC and ugly giant system.(I think XS look bad too, but PS5 is way more stand out). DS Controller is nice, and I think it's way better than the DS4, controllers always comes down to preference..I still like the feel of the Switch Pro controller best.

We cant possibly be talking about the games then, while Sony has shown stronger leap with the Tech behind the games than MS so far, I would hardly call either one game changing Next gen..have most of you never played PC games? DS: Remake looks fantastic but I think RE8 looks better, sooo..not the best looking game, Spiderman looks excellent, but not as good as Control..sooo..ok.

R&C looks a step above tho, so I think that will be the first True feeling "Next Gen" game.

Love the controller however I have to admit I'm.on my third duelsense as of today the first had stick drift, the second had the spring snap in the R2 trigger.

Good news is I haven't paid a thing and gotten it swapped out with a new 12 months warranty everytime.

Outside of this I find that I'm spending the majority of my time playing PS4 games either waiting for new games like ratchet or waiting for the promised next gen updates for games like doom eternal, sat wars the fallen order, Witcher 3 and cyberpunk.

I'm excited for this gen to kick into gear already but feel like it's taking a while to get there

The DualSense definitely helps here. I was blown away by the way Astro's Playroom demonstrated what it is capable of, and now we're starting to see it used more widely.

I don't think I would call it revolutionary, but certainly as our main way to interact with games, the way it helps to make the world and objects feel more tactile is for me the biggest factor in making games feel more next gen. Better graphics and framerates are if course a plus, and with every new gen there's definitely an expectation that these would improve, but the control for me is the biggest leap this time around and for now is the biggest differentiator between PS5 and SX

The difference between Xbox Series S/X & PS5.

Xbox has Gamepass, and it's entire back catalogue of Xbox One games can be played on the Series S/X. More so, the Series Xboxes improve those experiences, with higher frame rates and resolution.
MS requires that all Xbox S/X games must be playable on the Xbox One, however this is putting the cart before the horse. This actually means all new games are for the Xbox One, but can have a better experience on the more powerful X/S, the definition of 'Smart Delivery' if you like.
This means that actually the Series S/X are nothing more then next line of Xbox One, beyond the One X, albeit much more powerful.
This can be seen in the same UI and that same controller as the Xbox One (with added share button).
The Series S/X are not new generation, but a continuation of last gen, and they are 'Forward Compatible', a phrase Phil Spencer came up with a few years ago.

The PS5 is a whole new design and architecture, with new ideas for data speed transfer beyond just adding an SSD, haptic controller for greater immersion, activity cards, tempest 3d sound plus other innovations that have been talked about before. It just so happens to also play PS4 games exactly the same as a PS4 Pro does, unless that game has received a patch to unlock it's frame rate for example.
That is backwards compatibility in its purest form, an exact copy of a previous gen game running on new hardware.

This is the reason why we have heard it is easier for Xbox One games to be boosted, as effectively they are still running on a boosted Xbox One, whereas to get the most out of a PS4 game on PS5, the game code itself needs to be worked on.

We are now starting to see PS5 games appearing that are not cross gen, Returnal and Ratchet &Clank could not run on a PS4. This is the new generation starting proper.
However new Xbox exclusives will always be held back by the fact they are glorified Xbox One games, which is why Halo Infinite for example will not be ground breaking (I do wish it will be though).

Finally I have both a Series X and a PS5, and the PS5 is much better. I regret buying the Series X, it is just a faster One X that I had which still played all the Gamepass games very well.
PS5 Demon's Souls, Returnal, Astrobot and (to be bought) Ratchet &Clank are all new generation experiences even if one is a remake.
And then we have PSVR2 coming, more Innovation for us the consumer to enjoy.
