Wii wish you a merry Xbox

Cheap and cheerful may be the theme for holiday shopping this year, with consumers looking for low-priced technology that can raise their spirits with its entertainment value.

Nintendo's $250 Wii and Microsoft's Xbox 360 Arcade console are cases in point. Since the basic version of the Xbox 360 console was dropped to $199.99 in September, making it the cheapest of the next-generation ones, sales seem to have soared.

Sony would argue that its $399 PS3 represents better value given its bigger hard disk, built-in wi-fi and a Blu-ray drive. However, Sony offering its Blu-ray players for as low as $150 in the past week has weakened its case somewhat.

I got a ps3 last christmas because it was on sale and now im getting a 360 this christmas because of the amazing bundle they are doing at gamestation in london.

They dont need to argue,every one knows the ps3 is better value for money but not every one can afford it and thats the simple truth.I think this christmas the biggest winner will be wii and 360,i know sony will have a good christmas but the 360 will have a better one due to its price cuts.Buy know every one knows that price cuts can only have a postive effect on sales and during the holiday season the effects will be alot more.
