From The Guardian: "The global video gaming industry took in an estimated $180bn in 2020 – more than sports and movies worldwide."
Probably has a lot to do with today's music sounding all the same and sucking.
He's not wrong though.
No seriously. What good songs have been out like the last 5 years at least? Even top songs like Blinding lights is as good because its sounds like a song from the 80's lol!
looool!! You people DO realise that your mustic tastes don't represent what good music is right? It's such a stupid close minded take that its a parody of itself to even say unironically.
absolute shit take
lol! I was going to say the same thing
Sad. Music should be number 1.
There’s music in the games.
Ok I see
Mainstream media promotes music that sucks balls so that isn't no surprise lol Mainstream music passed it's golden age a while back imo But Lots of games have some epic music either way so as a music and game enthusiast I don't mind.
Most of the music I listen to while crunching away at work is from video game soundtracks. It's not the beeps and boops of past decades. Didn't the London Philharmonic Orchestra AND the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra do all of the tracks for Genshin Impact???? Have you guys checked out HADES music? It hits so hard. I love what music has become in gaming. It's like this now. Music is a HUGE part of games.
Music might be a huge part of games but how many of those can you go see in concert or at a festival?
Sure as hell has better music than the music industry too.
TOTALLY MY OPINION Everyone needs to stop listening to pop music as it’s completely lame and devoid of creativity. It’s just music to work out too. The underground scenes across all genres have way more interesting things to listen to. In rock/metal underground space you have progressive rock and that’s adventure on acid Lyrical rap that actually means something is still relevant and not mumble rap that gets cash thrown at it daily. There is country that still resembles the likes of classic Charlie Daniels Band Go beyond your Nickelback, Tim McGraw, and Future and you’ll find some diamonds in the rough of the top 40 bull crap. Spotify has made it easy to access a lot of this stuff if you don’t want to buy CDs too.
People that complain about current music "sounding the same" clearly do not listen to enough music imo. There's more than ever out there due to the digital era (Spotify, as you mentioned) and you'll definitely find something you love if you take time to look (listen?) past what's on mainstream radio.
+1 for metal. Where people still play actual instruments
Who can blame them, Today's music with a few exceptions, is butt.
Music is pretty trash today. No effort
yea. todays music kinda sucks and sounds the same.
Youth culture killed my dog.
If I was stuck on a desert island and they said I could pick 60 hours of music or one video game of my choice, I'm picking the game...and I love music, even modern music. I just can't play the music. I can play the game, and interact with it, and more easily share it with all my friends who know little about music.
What game would you pick out of curiosity
It was always at the forefront for myself.
Video game music is way better then some of that poppy crybaby emo shit that is out there now
