Joey Marrazzo: Microsoft has been working hard to make the Xbox on PC experience better, but there are a few strategies it can take to be successful.
MS only talks about things improving in the future. It's been 7 years and we are in the future.
Too bad you never heard of game development takes time theory. You should go read about it brother.
Xbox's next comment. ''Game development takes time, great things await us''
Why even use that as an excuse when they have two other competitors pumping multiple GOTY within that same timeframe. Yeesh
Soo microsoft with all its studios, even the ones they recently bought, youre tellng me that every developer has basically been sitting on their ass and have only just started development on projects when they got aquired by microsoft?
But that's suppose to be *Before* a game is released. Not upwards to years after the fact.
MS has never heard of game release, then. It's ALWAYS a waiting game with Xbox.
They've had plenty of time. Time to admit it's not time they're lacking. It's talent. That's why they can't nurture talent, only purchase it.
@LeeFender I've heard that before over a decade ago
You know that is a pc article right? If you knew or care you would have given credit to Ms to actually succeed in making Xbox mater to pc gamer. Something that has been promised since OG Xbox. Now the titles are quite optimized on pc, there’s good integration between the pc and platform and Ms is selling quite well on Steam. A good read to understand this would be the article you just commented.
Dude, MS has done a complete 180 in the last few years. Don't treat them like the early days of the Xbox One. They've legitimately done a lot to cleaning up their image.
I would like to see a quick resume feature on PC. It could even be an OS feature so it works with Steam games etc.
It takes ten seconds to load a PC game. What's the point of quick resume?
Some games take far longer. GTA on an NVMe is still long for example. Plus quick resume let’s you jump straight back in where you were playing. No splash, menus etc.
@DarthMarvin You obviously dont understand quick resume - not surprised. The feature is not the fast loading - but that you get into the state you left of. I can start an xbox game and just shut it down. When i start the game nest day - it just opens the game where i left of - no hasle with menues or loading or saving for that sake. It is a features i would hate to lose once i have tried it.
I hate the Xbox ecosystem. Just put the games on PC and stop shilling this stupid brand.
Huh? Their games are already on PC and have been for years?
I reckon he means stop putting them exclusively on the sh!tty Xbox for Windows app, which I completely agree with. I want Rare Replay, but I'll never ever install or use the Xbox app, so they should put it on Steam.
Rare replay is old is all - MS games since have been coming to steam for years now. Honestly though, people get too attached to launchers. I don’t really care if it’s Steam, Xbox or Epic. I’ll buy it where it’s cheapest and play regardless.
I have friends, so launchers matter to me. I wouldn't if friend lists were combined among them, but they aren't so I'll never play on anything other than Steam.
I don't know. As a primarily PC gamer, Xbox acts as the only direct competition for Playstation. Nintendo has been doing its own thing for years and isn't necessarily trying to go toe to teo with the others. We're seeing Sony making questionable decisions as is. I don't want to see them in a market where they have less competition.
Xbox on PC will never be good. There's been an Xbox app on PC for almost a decade and it isn't even as good as Epic's launcher, which is absolute trash itself. There's no hope, just put it out of its mysery and release everything on Steam.
You can download them straight from the windows store. I never use the xbox app.
Because that's better. 🤦
But the Windows store isn't particularly good for games, I just use Steam for 99% of games, the remainder are Epic, GOG, Origin, ect...
i feel like that MS is only talking about whats to come .. but it never does. or rarely
What MS should do is build a PC with standard off the shelf hardware, bung a modified version of Windows on there and put an Xbox sticker on the side. Oh wait a minute.... /s
