Metro Exodus will come to Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 on June 18 2021

We are excited to announce that Metro Exodus will come to Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 on June 18 2021.

Utilising the power of these new consoles, we have been able to include 4K*, 60 FPS, Ray Tracing throughout (including Ray Traced emissive lighting as pioneered in The Two Colonels), Field of View options and platform specific features such as spatial audio and controller latency improvements on Xbox, and support for the haptic features of the PlayStation 5 Dual Sense controller.

I gave this game about 20 minutes, then quit. Did they ever fix the controls that were plaguing the game at launch? If so, I'd give it another go.

What was wrong with the controls?

littletad43d ago

There was a problem with the controls that made the game a bit unplayable. I think it was patched, but not sure. There was a hotfix by messing with the settings but I didn't understand it and lost my patience with the game. I never went back, but might with new and free updates.

I played it on PC and enjoyed every second of it. Controls were as good as ever.

You’re talking about input lag, which was an issue, but at 60fps that’ll already reduce input lag, but on top of that, they said they are reducing input lag in the game and addressing that specifically.

I have this controller input delay problem in every game I decided to play. It has become a headache with the previous and also with the new gen of consoles. Metro Exodus had this problem (One X), Cyberpunk 2077 was the absolute worst experience so far (One X), now in the RE: Village and Second Extinction on XSX. I just put the controller back down and think f ** k this. I have a decent TV and I shouldn't experience it. Warzone was perfect, just to give an example, so this must be a developer issue. I don't play many games so I could compare even more.
Cyberpunk on my friend's PC was perfect, no complains, night and day difference.

Admittedly the controls were a bit fiddly but after some fine tuning the game arose from it's competitors and became a gem of a game. It was a great game length, great detail and a strong story. Really enjoyed my time on & in this game.

What was the issue you experienced?

Were things unresponsive to you? Did the movement feel clunky? Metro games aren't twitchy and snappy and they never have been, if that's what you mean.

I'm quite the Metro fan and genuinely curious. They're not perfect games, but the story, setting, and especially atmospheres have always been top notch, imo. I also really enjoy being stealthy in them.

Can't wait for the PS5 update and plan to buy the Enhanced Edition (and platinum it) as soon as it releases on PS5. Already 1000/1000'd on Xbox.

I played and finished game around 5 months ago and it played flawlessly. If their were controller issues I assure u that it's been patched

If I used a DS5 with my pc, would I still benefit from those haptic feedback updates?

D3TH_D33LR42d ago (Edited 42d ago )

I guess we can’t ask questions without piling disagrees? Lame

StoneyYoshi42d ago

It's N4G, People disagree about anything even if theres nothing to disagree about. Don't sweat it. Or maybe they were answering you with a disagree instead lol.

NeoGamer23242d ago

They can try to sell this hard all they want, but this is a graphical upgrade with a few new features. Not at all worth buying.

OMGitzThatGuy42d ago

If you don't own the game, how is this not worth buying? The update is free for current owners.

NeoGamer23242d ago

Yes, I can agree with first time purchases.

But, what would've been wrong with providing a free graphical upgrade for existing owners rather then making them purchase it again? Metro Exodus on PC has extreme settings for 4K. Surely it would not be rocket science to run it in 4K on the new consoles which are essentially specialized gaming PCs. There are many games providing free 4K upgrades. Even Activision provided a free 4K upgrade on Crash's Insane Trilogy!

Really, I watch how these developers/publishers treat me as an avid game buyer. I will prioritize developers/publishers that give me benefits in purchasing their games. Their loss not mine. The next Metro won't see my money until it is in the digital bargin bin because of this.

Neo, the guy you replied to said it's free for current owners, did you just skim right past that or?

Getting that physical PS5 version. I need to be 2033 and Last Light Redux on Switch
