Review - NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139 (PC) | WayTooManyGames

WTMG's Kyle Nicol: "For better of for worse, NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139 is pretty much what it was so many years ago. If you didn’t like the original release, then this won’t do much to convince you otherwise, and if you are coming from Automata, this is a weaker game in a lot of ways. NieR demands patience from its players and rewards it with a phenomenal story. With this cult classic making a return maybe Drakengard could see the same treatment? "

Boo it’s better than 6.5 . It’s the same story and game with better combat !! I know it’s just an opinion that’s fine but this game is worth buying and playing !!

Honest review IMO. I loved Automata, but still some sidequests felt kinda pointless. If it's worse in Replicant I think I'll skip it.

There's still easily 40-50 hours of gameplay just getting all of the endings without focusing on most sidequest stuff. And the ones you DO have to focus on for getting ending C/D are pretty fun. Nothing special, but the story itself is more than worth going through and supporting. Especially for a series like this, that actually needs to make money if we want more of it going forward. It's based off a 2010 game, so of course it's going to be a little rough around the edges in some areas.

This is why you should not listen to other folks and just play the game for yourself.

Games are rather expensive nowadays, so I think references are useful when reviewers make their points clear. Of course you shouldn't focus on the score, I've learned to appreciate the games whatever score they get.
