That’s insane. I still remember people saying it won’t sell past 30 million, and yet it’s still going. I can see this surpassing both the Wii and the PS4.

MightyHealthy39d ago

Spectacular rebound after the abysmal WiiU sales

blackblades39d ago (Edited 39d ago )

Yeah going by the release dates with sales, it will surpass it and switch as few more year and maybe more to sell more units. Unless something happens that hinders it which i doubt.

RosweeSon38d ago

Ah the fear of change brigade 😅🤷🏻‍♂️ ✌🏻🤣

Agent7538d ago

But you’re comparing handheld sales with home console sales.

Switch is less than 32 million units away from outselling PS4 at this point and it hasn’t shown any sign of slowing down yet

Profchaos39d ago

They have talked about a successor or a pro edition who knows what will happen some people will absolutely upgrade to a pro so extra numbers there.

FallenAngel198439d ago

Forget the new model, the standard model hasn’t even had a price cut yet

Switch could very well be the first system to cross the 100 million mark without a price cut prior

The lockdown has been a gold mine for Nintendo and it won't slow down. This is truly the children's choice of toy console like the wii was and tbh as long as you stick to switch specific titles it's a worthwhile buy as a handheld. I do wish they release a cheaper docked only console it would do pretty good

Jin_Sakai39d ago

Toy console? Switch is for everyone not just kids. I’ll be picking up a Switch Pro/2 when they release. Can’t wait. Love me some Nintendo games.

ocelot0739d ago

Sorry but it's not just a kid's console. Yes I can imagine majority of switch owners are kids/teens. But a lot of adults have a switch. I am 31 and own a switch.

However, It's simply just a Pokémon console for me. I have played Mario Kart and still own it. Breath of the wild and I'll get monster hunter at one point. But that's pretty much it for me. I have never been a fan of the majority of Nintendo IP. Plus I don't buy 3rd party titles on switch.

RosweeSon38d ago

35 and bought Day1. Some people just like to attempt to appear more mature than they are by writing things off as oh that’s for kids whilst never trying them out and playing fortnite religiously 😑🤣✌🏻 These kids games are good with me. Timeless classics gaming gold and let’s face it top 100 games of all time are generally riddled with Nintendo and they take up a fair old Chuck of the list too. They deserve all the success always happy to try something new and original rather than same old same old. Always got time for that.

MightyHealthy39d ago

Nintendo has been releasing the most graphic games as long as the switch can handle the load. Definitely not cbilds console. Its an everyone console

RosweeSon38d ago

Yeah the kids love a bit of Bayonetta 2. Sounds like only one kid here and I’ll let you try figure it out, pro tip use a mirror 😑🤣 well forget doom mortal kombat the Resi series. Sure Nintendo 1st party games are generally built for kids or to visually appeal to them but the games themselves are built for all and they have a level of excellence to make a game enjoyable for 4 year olds and 40 year olds and beyond. Like a good episode of the Simpsons kids don’t understand half the jokes.

As for needed a docked only console what is the point of that literally what. Just leave it in the dock if it’s that upsetting sellotape it in there or something 🤦🏻‍♂️🤷 🏻‍♂️🥴🤣

zacfoldor38d ago (Edited 38d ago )

Well I'm an adult, and I play Switch all the time. I also play PS5. Switch and PS5 are choices. My brother and mother are also adults, and play the Switch constantly. I think you are using old talking points against Nintendo from 2 gens ago. Just the JRPG library alone on the Switch is incredible. You think only kids play the Switch? LOL wrong.

I understand everyone needs to marginalize the Switch because the sales success is just too unbelievable for words, and one may feel inadequate with their own console's sales, but update your talking points every few years, keep them current.

Remember, Switch isn't competing with the other two consoles, right?

RosweeSon38d ago

That’s the problem with most they so far behind they can’t keep up with Nintendo’s excellence 🤷🏻‍♂️🤣 ✌🏻 Some people are just happy they got a share button now 😑🥴🤣

Yui_Suzumiya38d ago

I bought a Switch Lite for games like Doom, Wolfenstein, BioShock, The Outer Worlds,, Resident Evil and so forth, tbh. I also have a PS3 and PS4 but it's fun playing those games on the Switch as well.

RosweeSon38d ago

Yeah the kids love them
Ones 🥴✌🏻😜

This will likely surpass PS4, Sony could learn so much from Nintendo. They have a treasure trove of great IP but they don't give it the same care that Nintendo does with theirs.

MightyHealthy39d ago

What would you like to see sony do with their IP that they're not and nintendo is doing

outsider162439d ago

No thankyou. Sony should stick with their own thing and they're successful at that. Let Nintendo so their own thing

blackblades39d ago (Edited 39d ago )

Should say that about xbox not sony

Elda39d ago

If Sony thought about being like Nintendo I wouldn't support the PS platform. Sony PS is doing fine with what they do when it comes to games.

badz14938d ago

WTF? Learn from Nintendo? Learn what? The art of milking age old IPs to death?

ZeekQuattro38d ago

The Last of Us Remake says hi. The game is what 10 years old and was already remastered. Lmao
