This is PlayStation’s money-maker, so when’s it going to actually feel like it?
69.... Nice ;)
Lol beat me to it
You both beat me by 15 hours. :(
I get the feeling this author isn't familiar with most web-based shopping experiences. The home page is an advertisement, use the filters, with so many products you're not going to get exactly what you want at the top always, sometimes filtering is based on the standard price and not the sale price (why you see lower prices mixed in with others sometimes), and most gamers aren't shopping on the Web store but on their console. But, yeah, I'm certain Sony can solve the issues that pretty much exist on other web-based storefronts. Personally, the filters work perfectly fine for me. Took me less than 10 seconds to put a filter that saw The Colonists show up along with some upcoming games and other recently released. The *one* thing I have a problem with? You either search PS5 or PS4, not both.
Yeah it’s simple enough and not given me problems. First place to check Deals 🙌🏻🤣 filter price or what not. For everything else Chuck it in your wish list and when it’s on sale hit the trigger 🤣 it’s swift doesn’t lag or crash. Works for me 🤷🏻♂️✌🏻 ; Rather they focus elsewhere than on stuff that doesn’t need fixing sure it’ll get updates as time goes on.
"But, yeah, I'm certain Sony can solve the issues that pretty much exist on other web-based storefronts." You're downplaying a legitimate complaint. This is a NEW problem, not an old one. On the PS3 and PS4, there was always some kind of dedicated "NEW" section where you could see all of the new stuff, consequential or not. On the PS5, once you're on the Store, you can press R1 5 times to get to the Browse section, and then you need to apply some filters. Way less users are going to do that than simply clicking on a "NEW" section. Sony are trying to hide all the junk that gets added but they're also burying a lot of good indie games in the process. Thankfully, they usually promote some indie games but only a small amount and not always the best ones. Let's not forget that at launch you'd have to keep leaving and going back into the Deals section until the sale you wanted appeared. lmfao.
***On the PS3 and PS4, there was always some kind of dedicated "NEW" section where you could see all of the new stuff, consequential or not.*** There's almost exactly the exact same here. The landing page is ads on the old one, then you filter what you want to see from the left. The only difference here is it's a filter option, not just a single link that then you had to filter further. In both situations you are performing the same number of clicks to get to see what you want. ***Sony are trying to hide all the junk that gets added but they're also burying a lot of good indie games in the process.*** Landing pages are ad pages on the old site as well. It's the same on Xbox. It's the same on Amazon. It's the same on Steam. In fact, when you get beyond the landing page it's the opposite issue. You need to filter out things you don't want to see because it shows you everything. And the filter has the options you need to do that.
Digital only is the future
I used to believe that.
It's misleading. Tons of that is MTX, not game sales. Just look at Fortnite. People are still buying physical. Less, but a large portion that it is far from dead.
Yes until they see not a lot of people are using certain features and shut the whole thing down.. Like ps3.
Yeah, I think the PS Store can fix some issues. On PS3 it is just so incredibly slow, and the filter options on all devices is not great. For example, if I select sales on PS4 it doesn't actually show me all games that are on sale. For PS4 I have to find the sales theme card and hit that, then I see those sales. If there are multiple themed sales going on then I can't see all the sales that are currently happening. In addition, when I filter by PS Classics on PS3 or Vita it is missing some classics, but if I search for them individually they are there. It's just overall very strange. I will say though, PS Store on PS5 is snappy af. Even compared to the PS4
The new store is ass. I do like the wishlist though, props on that.
yeah the website is so much worse than what it used to be. but the store on the PS4 itself is good. I still don't have a PS5 yet and probably wont for another year or two
Ps5 store is junk. I liked the PS4 store but it was slow
69% ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Another day, another thing to whine.... love the internet... zzzZzzzZzzz.....
Honestly, it is hard to find anything on there. I basically have to search by exact title name to find a game. I never "shop" on the Playstation store or the Eshop, I shop/browse online at Amazon or Metacritic and then go back and buy online. If the shops were set up differently, that wouldn't be necessary, and knowing how retail works, I'd probably end up buying more too.
Well there was another article about ppl suing Sony for a monopoly of digital games on PSN https://n4g.com/news/241596... Now this does beg a question If the PSN store is the only place to buy the digital game then why the shopping experience should be a priority for Sony? It's not like you can say I'll go buy my digital games elsewhere
The PS store is so glitchy, I decided to sell my ps4, not worth it in my opinion
I have no problem with the store . It has games , it’s easy to find and buy them . I mainly buy physical as it’s cheaper and has resell value but I do buy a digital game occasionally and look at games with my kids as they like to look at what’s available
How do I find demos
The entire PS4 UI needs a refresh imo. It all looks clean, but im not the biggest fan of the cards system. And while I definitely shop the store plenty, I definitely agree that its clunky.
