Difficulty is a big part of this game that may be a deal-breaker. How hard is Returnal? Here is a breakdown of how challenging the game is.
According to Housemarque, Returnal marks the beginning of a "new future" at the studio, and is the game that them to join Sony.
Returnal was fantastic, and I'm looking forward to seeing what these folks create with Sony in the future.
They make some fun arcade styles games. Returnal is one of the best games so far this generation. I wonder what is next
returnal is easily one of the most underrated games this gen. a lot of people with ps5s dont know it exists.
With so many PS5 exclusives to choose from, it can be a little overwhelming to pick which one to play. This is especially true for a new PlayStation gamer who has yet to experience the wonder of PlayStation-exclusive storytelling. So, here's KnowTechie's take on the best PS5 exclusives in 2024 and beyond
PlayStation is killing it with the exclusives this year. Exclusive wise, what has xbox released this year?
Returnal, Astro Bot, and Ratchet made having it since day one worth it.
GT7 free updates and Spiderman 2 and others at 60fps have made this last year more than okay.
But yeah, it’s been dry lately. BG3 and third party have made great filler, but we ready for that SOCOM or Killzone announcement and some more 1st party goodness. Crossing fingers for Ghost of Tsushima 2 announcement this summer.
Didn’t know Helldivers was exclusive! Wtf is going on at Xbox that they can’t get these games, series s strikes again.
Looks like they are on par with the previous gens. Solid games all around. Interestingly enough, we can't say they released a bad game yet this gen. Unlike the Quiet Man dustup.
I actually do not mind if Marathon releases on multiple platforms . I just wish that Marathon has a dedicated single player campaign.
The games for Humble Choice Bundle for the month of April, 2024, have begun to be revealed, and they include Returnal.
Some solid choices but i feel they're late to the party. I'm subscriptioned out like most people.
This made me check out the current month and holy crap it's actually a great bundle. It's unfortunate that Saints Row is among them but the Nioh 2 and Afterimage make it worth it. I think I'll probably grab it and give away Saints Crap.
This was actually a good read. I don't play a lot of this type of game, so I learned a lot.
WOW what a waste of time of a game. Thanks for clearing things up.
I like difficult games . I’m sure it’s not that hard if you learn the mechanics and how to read the game . Too many people want their hand held in games these days but I like a challenge rogue likes are supposed to be hard so you can learn the board , moves , what to watch out for and gain power over time . If you suck at games or aren’t into learning mechanics and to have some challenging gameplay skip it . I plan on seeing it through to the end . The Souls games aren’t hard at all really just challenging at first until you learn the mechanics and moves from enemies .
Good read. I think I get it a little more now. But I’m still undecided if I’ll pick this up. Might need to watch some real gameplay videos to decide
On paper this game sounds frustrating regarding certain features and not in a Souls game way. However, there has to be a reason why it's highly rated. I'm not going to judge it until I've tried it
From article:
There are no permanent stat increases. You will never be able to permanently increase health, armor, firepower or anything that is advantageous to your survival in combat.
Every death will wipe all progress and bring you back to the start of the game.
Each time you respawn, you will experience a completely different, randomly generated world. The enemies are never in the same locations and it is not possible to predict and prepare for what is ahead based on past experiences.
You can teleport to other biomes, skipping the boss fights but only after you find the random location of the teleporter.
Stronger weapons will only be dropped when you have killed enough enemies to increase your combat proficiency, which resets when you die. Reaching a new biome will give you an item that increases it a few levels automatically but the level up does not apply to your current weapon. Your level 0 pistol will remain a level 0 pistol when you teleport to a higher biome and take on much stronger enemies.
