Sure, but then there’s a challenge in-game to beat it in 3 hours.

RosweeSon1470d ago

Typical Resi been that way since the first one and expected nothing less 😜✌🏻🤣

DarXyde1469d ago

Always fun.

I was able to do it on the PS1, but I also did it on GameCube in about 25 minutes!

....but on the GameCube, to get that ridiculously low time, you can stop the game's timer by playing with the disc door open. Totally not fair, but I already proved to myself I could do it before. :0)

roadkillers1470d ago

RE7 took people on average 12 or so hours. I was able to beat it within 2hrs because of prior knowledge and a buzzsaw. The unlockables make the games fun to speedrun.

Didn't RE2 or RE4 unlock rocket launcher with unlimited rockets after completion?

mgszelda11470d ago

Why would you want prior knowledge? It kills the fun.

roadkillers1470d ago

Prior knowledge is from beating it on normal difficulty twice. You start to figure out shortcuts.

Highrevz1470d ago

Around 15 hours for a first play on standard difficulty. There’s a lot of spoilers going around so be carful to avoid.

Resident evil 7 was popular for speed running so no doubt this will be loved for that.

RosweeSon1470d ago

All the Resi games are good to speed run eventually once you know the puzzles and skip all the notes etc.

I'm on complete social media blackout for RE8 until I purchase it myself next weekend 😁

RE games always have so much re-playability. Unfortunately i always only have time for one play through these days as life gets busier. 15 hours of play is plenty of time in my eyes, especially considering the games are usually so intense that its a relief when you finish.

philm871469d ago

Yeah I was kind of relieved when RE7 finished, but massively enjoyed it at the same time. Seems strange to say. Maybe it's cos I found myself just playing short amounts of time each session? I was going to play Alien Isolation, but that seems really long for this type of game.

jukins1470d ago

I'm gonna get this but I have a feeling i won't finish after playing re7 in vr

StoneyYoshi1470d ago

Was that out of fear or nausea?

I tried playing it in VR on my friends base PS4 and got sick. Thats the only VR game I've ever gotten sick from. Every other VR game I Play on my PS4Pro has given me no issues also with my HTC Vive on PC.

Did you by any chance play it on a Base PS4? Im thinking that could be why it got me sick. Not as stable of a framerate like on PS4Pro?

Lexreborn21469d ago

I played it all the way through on PS4 pro in VR. I actually don’t know what the flat version is like in comparison as I only played it in VR and never got sick.

StoneyYoshi1469d ago

Ah i misread your comment... my bad lol.

Rambokind1470d ago

Some dope beat the game in several hours. So? The honor some people give themselves is kinda sad.

Tacoboto1470d ago

Huh?

Play-time is a very relevant thing... especially for single-player games

philm871469d ago

It's just info for how long the game is, not showing off cos they beat it quickly.

RE franchise is my favourite, it’s so awesome. There’s so much variety and many great games. That is why i hope we’ll get at least one more RE with first person perspective. I want that RE7 experienece one more time! The RE9 director is the same one as RE7 so i’m expecting it to be amazing.

Currently $10 at Walmart on Xbox.

About what it goes for on digital store fronts these days as well. It's always seems like it's on sale along with the other RE games.

Babadook73d ago (Edited 3d ago )

I loved the similarities between Village and RE4. I guess the main thing that felt similar is they both seem like sprawling “villages” and the action was well balanced. Both incredible games in VR too.

Lol I doubt iPhone contributed much to that figure, the vast majority would have been PS5 and PC.

mastershredder329d ago (Edited 329d ago )

Yeah, of course the mobile sites are going to make news out of the couple digit in-the-thousands or so downloads as a major contribution. The original story was that Village hit the 10 million mark across all the platforms, nice for mobile fans to take it up a serious notch like it was due on behalf of mobile.
