Xbox One Sales Top 50 Million - Worldwide Hardware Estimates for Mar 28-Apr 3

The Nintendo Switch was the best-selling console with 512,554 units sold for the week ending April 3, according to VGChartz estimates. The Switch has now sold an estimated 82.93 million units lifetime.

The PlayStation 5 sold an estimated 227,669 units to bring its lifetime sales to 7.10 million units. The Xbox Series X|S sold 104,434 units to bring their lifetime sales to 4.43 million units.

The PlayStation 4 sold an estimated 38,779 units, the Xbox One sold 16,772 units, and the Nintendo 3DS sold 1,324 units.

The Xbox One surpassed 50 million units sold worldwide, according to VGChartz estimates.

Yay.... and it did it on its own, no padded sales from bad units. Double the og Xbox and more than half the 360. Not bad for a system marred with bad press and not many first party exclusives / games.

Well it's not great, the PS3 was marred with bad press and "PS3 haz no gaemz" narratives, but still somehow managed to overtake the 360 in the end, despite being on sale one year less.

It's tough to spin this into a positive.

Reason being, those are easier to verify than digital sales.

I honestly thought they were a bit past 50 million for about a year or so now but that's crazy. Also this site usually overtracks xbox numbers so they might need another year to actually hit the mark.

Edit* now we know why Phil is pressing game pass so much, they would be crucified without it.

I hope m$’ marketing team gets credit for this pivot. It ain’t grabbing me, but I’m sure it’ll grab some of the Nintendo market as older kids start favoring shooters over Mario

they still have ps4 at 115 million units according to wiki 115 million was back december 30th 2020 and vg charts undertracking ps4 number by now ps4 should be 119 million not 115 million hopefully sony will update there released figures soon

It's more a case of their wonky track record in the past constantly coming to bite them, despite different approaches in data collection today. There's less of the hyped approach and more collecting various official retail numbers where they can. Along with that, series numbers are reflected by the publisher's own announcements.

It's kinda dumb b/c users here poison the well when they're at their most rigorous, yet had less of issue weaponizing them during 7th gen.

How if the PS5 and Xbox new consoles are all being sold out as soon as they arrow in stores is so many more PS5 being produced? Why is Microsoft not having more Xbox consoles produced?

Ps5 still just over 2.1 compared to series x and series s combined... Once everything back to normal ratio will be 3.1 or 4.1 but it don't matter as n4g experts claim Spencer doesn't want to sell consoles only GP subs

Sheesh, if all those acquisitions don't help them sell consoles in the future they might as well get out of the console biz and just be a software publisher/developer. It'd be a shame if all those developers and games to don't get a chance to sell for the lack of demand for their console. They have enough studios now to rival third party developers like EA and Activision if they published on pc, ps and or whatever . I mean by competing against sony for a forth generation now and failing I think it would be wise to refocus on their strengths which has always been software.. I know they have enough money to keep the xbox brand somewhat relevant but come on they are so much suited to a pc market that Valve and Epic are the ones they should try and take market share from. I honestly think the Xbox brand has the advantage of thriving now without it being attached to a console unkind Sony or Nintendo . I never been impressed with any of their consoles ......... but their games are great.
