Sarcastic Gamer's Game of the Year is revealed

Sarcasticgamer.com reveals it's Game of the Year, and it's guaranteed to disappoint.

From the article: "What a year 2008 has been. Great PS3 games, crappy Wii games, a resurgence in PC gaming and an explosion of RPG's on the Xbox 360. There's been a ton of great games that have been released on every platform. Unfortunately, as Connor McCloud would say, there can be only one…

There's only one Game of the Year. Chances are that you're gonna disagree with our pick. We're okay with that. Find out, after the jump!"

My GOTY is Fallout 3 followed somewhat closely by MGS4. Fallout 3 just pulls you in and refuses to allow you to escape the wasteland. Bethesda did a wonderful job with the title.

Rock Bottom5611d ago (Edited 5611d ago )

Has one of, if not "the" worst ending in video games history.

Anyway, two people picked Fallout 3 and four picked MGS4, those are the only games that have been chosen more than once(I think).

wallace10005611d ago (Edited 5611d ago )

A good pick in my opinion, but then again i haven't played all the games on all the consoles this year so it is just based on what i have played. Always been a big fan of the Fallout series and Fallout 3 continues to keep me entertained.
@ Rock Bottom - The whole 10 minute ending after you battle your way to the purification plant does not doom the entire game. I do however agree that the ending wasn't that great but the rest of the game was awesome. Don't bother with the ending until you have explored and enjoyed the entire game.

But I'd want Persona 4 or Fable 2 to be right up there behind it. I think this year towards 4th quarter we got a small peek at what to expect from rpg's next year.

edit* whooops almost forgot Fallout 3 too.

Danja5611d ago

I agree MGS4 is hands down my GOTY...

Persona 4 deserves to be RPG of the year but I dont think they're gonna give it to a PS2 game and Persona just isn't as popular as other RPG like Fallout or Fable..

swiftshot935611d ago

GOTY is either Fallout 3 or MGS4. For me, its MGS4, but its soo close. Fallout 3 is the best rpg this gen. MGS4 is the best Action game this gen. Period.

Only on Sony PS3 ofcourse where quality, quantity and variety rule!

Gun_Senshi5611d ago

All Fallout fans like MK_Red will cry.

Its just Oblivion with guns and Oblivion was an insult to The Elder's scroll fans...

Faztkiller5611d ago

i loved oblivion
but i wish i had not wasted $3.00 to rent fallout 3

Not a bad thing. They've even shown excitement at what the update could bring to making things better for them. More work? Yeah. But, still a good thing overall.

Ereban: Shadow Legacy Review | PC | NoobFeed

NoobFeed editor Mariella Deadman writes - Ereban: Shadow Legacy is a great addition to the stealth genre. Subverting expectations with a well-lit area being the most dangerous possible. The story is engaging and works as an excellent backdrop to the great gameplay. The movement is swift and exciting, and the combat is really well implemented.

-"Subverting expectations with a well-lit area being the most dangerous possible."

Maybe I'm just misinterpreting the intention here, but well-lit areas being the most dangerous is a basic building block for many stealth games (old and new).
