FPS Boost: Skyrim, Fallout 4, Fallout 76 - Performance is Great But What About Image Quality?

Digital Foundry : After the excellent FPS Boost results from Prey and Dishonored Definitive Edition, the technology works just as expected on Skyrim - but while frame-rates have never been better on the Fallout games, resolution is capped at 1080p on Xbox Series X, the same as Series S. What's going on there, what workarounds are available, and just how fast do these games run on the X if we do manage to get full 4K resolution working? Tom and Rich discuss.

Interesting. Series S handles 1080p with greater stability than series X and ps5 at 4K. VRR would be nice here for X and when it comes to ps5.

How is that interesting? The S GPU is about 33% as powerful of the X and only needs to push 25% of the pixels.
Remember, the S is targeting 1440p

No. Those numbers are not the interesting part. Just that S has such a drop in fidelity. 1/4 the pixels. And that because of this it gets a performance advantage. This is not a normal situation. In this case the designers aren’t doing the patch and unlikely things happen.

That is like saying the xbox one handles 1080p with greater stability than Series X @ 4K.

Both completely different resolutions/assets, just comes across as a bit of a cherry pick numbers wise to initiate some kind of debate....
