Gotham Knights Will Now Launch Worldwide in 2022

Gotham Knights has been delayed per the game's official Twitter account.

-Foxtrot1131d ago

Not the end of the world. I feel this is going to end up being some live service stuff anyway the way Warner Bros has been going on lately. They said it won't be and how damage numbers, enemy health bars can be turned off but still, WB said some things about Shadow of War and look how that turned out.

LOGICWINS1131d ago

Maybe WB reworked it to be a normal single player experience after seeing Anthem get shut down and Avengers underperforming.

These publishers can’t take Ls like they used to. Game development is too expensive these days.

-Foxtrot1131d ago

Hopefully

I mean I don't understand why they have two Batman Universe projects going, this and Suicide Squad yet they sound roughly the same in concept. I know we haven't got a lot to go on with Suicide Squad but 4 players, co-op focus, working together, even Captain Boomarangs teleport thing looks exactly like Robins in Gotham Knights.

One should have been a single player focused game.

Kind of funny because Square Enix announced Marvel's Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy around the same time, but we've seen or heard nothing on the Guardians game which makes me think that was supposed to be exactly like Avengers aswell just like what's happened here with two projects being closely similar.

Juiceid1131d ago

Shadow of war was a huge disappointment for many reasons.

SDuck1131d ago

They fixed Shadow of War later though. Hopefully they learned their lesson but I'd rather wait post launch to see

Probably a good idea if they can avoid the pitfalls avengers has had.

Medium is really good and sea of thieves had a massive update, it’s super fun now having a blast. Also halo if it isn’t pushed.

EazyC1131d ago

Maybe a new Battlefield, and R&C as someone said I think that's pretty much it .

InUrFoxHole1130d ago

Resident evil
Ratchet
Halo
Back 4 blood ( or whatever the left 4 dead game is)
Hot wheels

We can only hope that this will mean they are canceling the last gen versions in favor of focusing on PS5/Series X/S. As sad as last gen sales are already, there will certainly be no justification for launching on those platforms in 2022.

JaXion51131d ago

That's not how it works bud.

JEECE1131d ago

It can be. Look at Dying Light. However, I agree with you that this generation, everyone seems intent on pushing forward with cross gen even far past the point it will possibly be worthwhile. So even though it makes perfect sense to cancel the last gen versions, they probably won't.

NeoGamer2321131d ago

2021 just continues where 2020 left off!

When they did the announcement I was suspect on a 2021 release. I expect a lot of games to be moved back before this year is out. The only games that we can count on are the games that were scheduled for last year and first 5 months of this year that were pushed back. Anything that was targeting holiday 2021 probably has no chance of releasing on time.

jbull1131d ago

I hope the delay is down to WB seeing the shit show that was the Avengers game and wisely delayed it to make it a more story driven single player experience that the fans actually want.

I bought Scarlet Nexus physically a week ago for that price. A very fun and addicting game imo.

Demetrius112d ago

Bern wondering bou getting that too

1nsomniac112d ago

I’ve noticed a distinct lack in any reduction to PS+ subs this holiday season. Sony trying to force customers hands into paying the fully inflated price.

This is the longest I’ve ever been a non PS+ subscriber since it began. I won’t be the only one. Protest with your wallet or they will keep shafting the consumer!

Snookies12112d ago (Edited 112d ago )

They literally just had a reduced price on their official site. It was a 30% discount on all tiers for a year. I paid like $50 for a year of the basic.

shinoff2183112d ago (Edited 112d ago )

Idk man there was a few months recently they knocked it out the park. Like the month we got all those jrpgs. Star oceans, etc. That was a great month.

andy85111d ago

This isn't true. They had one in December for a week and also Black Friday in November. There will most likely be the usual January one as well.

1nsomniac111d ago (Edited 111d ago )

Last one they had was Black Friday. They didn’t have any in December. The first year they haven’t had one in December.

1nsomniac110d ago

Seems to be US by the looks of it, can’t see any mention of it in UK and certainly don’t remember seeing anything advertised on the store about it.

shadowknight203112d ago (Edited 112d ago )

Its not really mind blowing deals, more like a bait n switch for clicks news article.

Between this and n4g never working anymore, i question why I even bother some days.

I thought this site was not working for me only. Good to know

Good month imo. I'll play Gotham Knights and House of Ashes. I'm finishing up Disco E on Steam right now - that's a superb game.

cthulhucultist194d ago

House of Ashes was weird but one of the good weird ones! Really enjoyed it

Gotham Knights Has Been Rated For Nintendo Switch In Singapore

WB and QLOC's live-service superhero outing, Gotham Knights, has been rated in Singapore for the Nintendo Switch.

BrainSyphoned224d ago

It aged fine. The PS4 and X1 versions were canceled. After the game flopped they could easily have started work on porting it to the largest platform still available to them. With the Switch 2 on the horizon it could even be one of the first games to have a free next gen upgrade announced if Nintendo goes that route.

DaleCooper224d ago

It's an okay game but having it to play on a portable system could work well for it, as long as they don't force always online. We'll see!

banger88224d ago

This game has an offline mode for solo play.
