I'll believe it when I see it. As of yet there hasn't been a truly native 4k, 60fps AAA title on these next gen systems afaik. Add ray tracing on top of that and it just seems impossible.

Graphics look last gen, classic Bethesda

slavish01125d ago (Edited 1125d ago )

it's Ray traced shadows not reflection

"As of yet there hasn't been a truly native 4k, 60fps AAA title on these next gen systems"

Not quite sure what news you have been following Zhipp, but pretty much the next gen games, are 4K @ 60fps, granted, some may not be released yet, but they are coming, all with raytracing.

Neonridr1125d ago

I guess ray traced shadows is better than no ray tracing at all. Just don't confuse this with ray traced lighting.

Eonjay1125d ago

There are like 5 different types of Ray Tracing that can be a accelerated by the hardware in these new consoles.

Neonridr1125d ago (Edited 1125d ago )

yes but lighting is the big thing, but also one of the most taxing. Shadows is still welcomed, don't get me wrong.

Sunny_D1125d ago

@Neon

Wouldn't it actually be reflections that's considered the bigger thing?

Neonridr1125d ago

@Deep_Space_One - Ray traced audio is not something that would be handled by the GPU though. I don't think that relates here since these next gen systems have high end audio chips capable of recreating 3D sound.

@Sunny_D - perhaps, either way it's more taxing than shadows. The original term ray tracing was used to describe photo-realistic lighting (as close as we can get to this point). People simply downvote me for trying to express that people will read ray tracing and assume it's some next gen lighting or even reflections. Reading comprehension isn't always top notch on this site. To each their own though.

Next gen tech on next gen game. Always a Good thing.

SierraGuy1125d ago

Wrong ...give me raytraced shadows over lightning any day.

SullysCigar1125d ago

Agreed. Some people just like to try for negative spin on good news.

Neonridr1125d ago

@SierraGuy - how would ray traced Lightning work? does the lightning give off ray traced lighting?

@SullysCigar - I even said that the ray traced shadows would be welcomed, but if you want to spin my spin, feel free.

StoneyYoshi1124d ago

@Neonridr

"I don't think that relates here since these next gen systems have high end audio chips capable of recreating 3D sound."

Creating a 3D audio environment is one thing but RT Audio allows the sound from audio sources to bounce off of objects in your environment until the sound reaches you. Similar to how the reverb audio system works in R6 Siege but RT Audio would be MUCH more accurate Vs that system. So having both RT Audio and 3d audio together should really blow our minds in theory.

It looks very good but I genuinely don't want to give Xbox any more funds to build even more of a monopoly, tbh.

The Xbox division was not profitable enough to afford Bethesda (they're the least profitable of the big 3), but they have the backing of a super mega corporation so they can just buy up a big chunk of the industry regardless.

It's not good for the industry. I've defended Xbox a lot from fanboys on this site but I genuinely don't want to support them at all going forward, especially after trying to make Xbox Live Gold €120. In time, they're going to fleece their consumers once they can get away with it

Father__Merrin1125d ago

Watch game pass price go up GPU will defiantly hit £14.99 in the UK so around $19.99

UltimateRacer1125d ago

Fleecing there consumers is what MS are best at.

Sunny_D1125d ago

Bruh just buy it used.

Zhipp1125d ago

M$ will charge as much for gamepass as they feel the market can handle. At the moment theyre not even charging the full advertised price, but I'm sure they will at some point in the future. It's always a balancing act. Doubling the price doesn't actually give them anything if they lose half their subscribers as a result.

slavish01125d ago

wtf does this comment have to do with 4k60 with raytrace shadows on ps5?🤔

glennhkboy1125d ago

We don't trash-talk on your PS exclusive. We don't trash-talk on Sony's monopoly on IP like SpiderMan. If an exclusive game is good (like Horizon Zero Down or Spider Man), it is good.

LucasRuinedChildhood1124d ago (Edited 1124d ago )

@glennhkboy

Let's not rewrite history. There was a lot of talk about how unfair the Spider-man exclusivity was (e.g. by big Youtubers like AngryJoe) and there was fury just recently over the exclusive Spider-man DLC for Avengers with articles written by IGN and even the BBC (meaning it gained mainstream attention).

https://www.google.com/amp/...
https://www.ign.com/article...

Media outlets had more concern over a DLC than MS taking Starfield, Elders Scrolls, Fallout, Doom, Wolfenstein, Dishonored, The Evil Within, etc and removing a HUGE chunk of the industry from other platforms.

It's ridiculous. At least Spider-man was neglected under Activision with a long string of mediocre games. There was some benefit and it was ultimately just one franchise. This is on another level.

343_Guilty_Spark1124d ago (Edited 1124d ago )

@Father_Merrin

$20 x 12 = $240 which is roughly 3 $70 titles plus some snacks

Even at $240 it's not a bad deal
