Outriders Coming to Xbox Game Pass (FAQ): How to Refund if you Pre-ordered

People Can Fly:
Hi everyone,

First of all, People Can Fly would like to express their gratitude and thank everyone who has pre-ordered Outriders and supported the game so far. Without your belief it would be very hard to create this original universe which we hope you will spend many, many hours enjoying.

As you may have seen, Outriders will be available with Xbox Game Pass from April 1! In anticipation of this, we expect there may be some questions around this. To that end, we've drawn up a brief FAQ.

I loved the demo so this is amazing news for me. Gamepass just keeps going from strength to strength. I honestly can't keep up.

If 1 million people buy out riders and 1 million play out riders on gamepass which one is more beneficial

jukins1136d ago

I'm sure any dev would want 1 million actual sales. I thought it was a gaas but apparently its "an actual" game with multiplayer. Guess microsoft offered enough money to basically eliminate all actual sales xbox

MadLad1136d ago

According to many on this site, this game was deal on arrival.

*shrug*

RazzerRedux1136d ago (Edited 1136d ago )

That works both ways. Before the Game Pass announcement, there was very little interest in this game based on comments in the articles. You had a few articles from the demo impressions articles with mixed reviews at best. After the announcement, you'd think this was front runner for game of the year by some and the next Anthem by others. A bit absurd either way.

CaptainHenry9161136d ago

You got a point. This is one of the reasons why game pass will increase in price. It's just a matter of time. It’s not going to be this cheap for long. They should keep the price the same for PC gamers since it's inferior to the Xbox version

darthv721136d ago

Keep telling everyone it's going to happen... eventually you will be right and then you can tell everyone "See... I told you so".

spicelicka1136d ago (Edited 1136d ago )

That's a skewed comparison. If 1 million people buy it on Xbox then it will sell 1 million copies, easy calculation. Gamepass will give access to millions of subscribers on the other hand. There is no simple way to estimate it, you can't just narrow is down to the same 1 million people. It will have far more exposure which means a bigger community, which could mean a lot of more potential DLC/cosmetics sales. For an ongoing Multiplayer game like this, a large community is essential to thrive. The game will also be on Gamepass for a limited time, it's not a MS studio, which could mean all those people that get invested in it are more likely to buy it later on. They also would have received money from MS for the potential boost it will bring to subscriptions and playtime. Let the devs worry about their benefit, no one is holding a gun to their heads.

On the consumer side we are getting nothing but value. Anyone that has Xbox Gamepass and wanted to buy gets to save money, and they can always buy at a discount when it's leaving Gamepass.

"If 1 million people buy out riders and 1 million play out riders on gamepass which one is more beneficial"

People can fly, not only would they have a cheque for the game being on gamepass, they also then have a potential 1 million customers that would buy the DLC pack through gamepass.

So they would have an install base of 2 million players, 1 million would have paid $60 ($60 million dollars revenue), the cheque from Microsoft for the game on gamepass (probably worth millions of dollars), and then all the sales of DLC at a 10% discount through gamepass (hell rangers content pack).

Win win for PCF, and good advertisement for gamepass for xbox.

The 7 Best Co-op Games on PS5

There's no better way to enjoy your PS5 than with friends, so here's our picks of the best co-op games on the console.

For coop, get a used switch instead

jznrpg104d ago

I own a Switch and have never played co-op on it. I do play Elden Ring , Demons Souls and some other co/op games with my friends on PS5. Baldurs Gate 3 is the next game I’ll play co-op. Can’t do that on a Switch

Cacabunga104d ago

I was thinking for couch casual immediate fun.. not online coop games that require some adaptation.

played it..de-installed it after 30 minutes.

Lighter9675d ago

I got pretty far, and just stopped caring. I uninstalled it as well.

Profchaos675d ago

It's extremely generic. It's not bad but it reminds me of the period between 2007 and 2009 where gears introduced cover shooters so almost everyone went out and made a unreal engine 3 cover shooter.
It feels like that to destiny

IanTH675d ago (Edited 675d ago )

For some it is. At launch, I expect more people felt that way. It also had tons of technical issues back then, at least on PC. I tried it after the New Horizons expansion later last year. I found the campaign enjoyable enough, even if not an amazing one. The gameplay was pretty fun, the story was pretty pants (but how many games can say otherwise lol). Still had some bugs even then, though.

I've no idea what is in the newest expansion, but if it ever piqued your interest, I'd suggest giving it a shot. It might give you 20-30 hours of fun before it fizzles out. Maybe I'll look into this expansion, see what's what.

MadLad675d ago (Edited 675d ago )

I'm having fun with it.
Originally avoided it having heard of the issues around launch.
It has been sitting on Gamepass so finally downloading it the other day.
I'm about 3 hours in, have my Trickster class at level ten, and it's a pretty good time.

Don't know if I'll end up beating it or not, but I'd give it a solid 8 so far, personally.

Livingthedream675d ago

Nah it’s fun, first 30 minutes ain’t enough. Give it a go!

Terry_B675d ago

Bad...nah. Its simply super boring

I played through the entire campaign. It was very generic. The story was mediocre and the technical issues on PC were pretty bad. They patched it up quite a bit. It plays better now. I can say the only reason why I enjoyed it was because I missed Division 2-type gameplay but was was tired of running around the same areas in New York. The endgame is just an enemy hitpoint multiplier where a tiny creature has 20,000 HP. It's too bullet-spongy.
