There was no way the Switch version of WRC 9 would look and run like other versions of the game, but the sole fact that, no only it actually runs on such underpowered hardware, but manages to do so without looking hideous or running at a poor framerate is already impressive in its own right. Being admittedly the worst version of the game out there, I’d actually recommend grabbing WRC 9 for other consoles if you haven’t played it yet, but if you’re a fan of the series, as well as rally games in general, having this game on-the-go is still quite fun."
KeenGamer: "WRC 9 brings simulation rally racing to the Nintendo Switch, preserving the core gameplay of the original. With over one hundred rallies and a generous career mode, there's lots to keep you busy. But, with the many visual concessions, does it still hold up?"
CCG writes - "WRC 9 The Official Game on Nintendo Switch is a ported and reduced version of WRC 9 FIA World Rally Championship that was released last year on PC and the more powerful consoles. This Switch version is remarkable in several ways - both with what was kept compared to its bigger cousins, and what was removed to fit on Nintendo's diminutive console. It's also a sequel to WRC 8, which is also on those same systems. Unfortunately, I can't compare the Switch versions of WRC 8 and 9, since I don't have that one. I did review them both on PC, however. For the purposes of this review, I am assuming that the Switch version of WRC 8 is as similar as the PC versions of WRC 8 and 9 are similar."
