N•Revolution closing blamed on Nintendo's shift from "hardcore" gamers

It's not news that Imagine's Nintendo-only UK magazine, N•Revolution, will cease publication. In this day and age, with ad revenue and readership down – not to mention a little thing you're using called the internet – this move doesn't exactly come as a surprise. It's the publisher's reasoning for the closure that does.

Imagine's managing director, Damian Butt, says that Nintendo's focus is shifting away from the magazine's readership, i.e. core gamers. "It has become increasingly obvious that Nintendo's strategy...has moved increasingly away from the hardcore gaming community that is our specialty," Butt explained.

The story is too old to be commented.

soccer mums, granny and even casual gamers (boy and girls) don't buy gaming magazines. they don't really care for what is happening in the industry.
