Switch vs PS4 in the US Sales Comparison - January 2021

January 2021 is the 47th month that the Nintendo Switch has been available for. During the latest month, the gap in the US between the Switch and PlayStation 4 grew in favor of the Switch when you align launches. The Switch sold 79,759 more units than the PS4 in the last month. In the last 12 months, the Switch has grown its lead by 3.97 million units. The Switch currently leads by 6.56 million units.

Again, this comparison cant be made. There two products here a hybrid console and a portable console vs a home console.. Two markets. The PS4 is a home console. Nintendo is selliing two consoles for two markets. Never you put the DS with the wii or the wiiu U. vs the PS3 or 360.

PS4 is also a hybrid as I can remote play from my PS4 to my phone. See, it works both ways.

you are right for the wrong reasons. they indeed cant be compared but because of their life cycles.
the ps4 is at the end of its life cycle and they are looking to stop production in the near future. and people are selling their ps4 when they get a ps5. The switch just entered their mid-life cycle where mostly most sales take place. and dont get me wrong the switch is pulling insane numbers and is doing really wel.
i am very interested to see if they can break the total sales of the ps4. wich would be a great achievement.

They cant. Because the Switch lite isnt a home console its a portable. Thats the real point im talking. The Swith is a hybrid home console. There no spinning here. Its selling high, but in two markets.
