UGO: Banjo Kazooie Retrospective

British developer Rare has long been a maverick in the world of video games - in an age when the vast majority of Nintendo titles were being made in Japan or America, the plucky lads from Twycross, England reverse-engineered a NES to create their first game, Slalom. Since then, they've been responsible for several console-defining titles, including the Donkey Kong Country series, which saw them bought by Nintendo and then sold to Microsoft. One of their most famous franchises is Banjo-Kazooie, the genre-defining 3D platformer that starred a slow-witted bear and a surly bird on a hop & bop quest through fantastical landscapes. With a new Banjo game set to drop this November, UGO figured it'd be a good time to revisit their history.

The story is too old to be commented.
