Motion Controls Are The Least of Skyward Sword’s Problems

Don’t think, just shake your stick. Skyward Sword thinks you are a moron. Alright, I’ll say it: the-long awaited Nintendo Direct was disappointing.

Hmmmm I disagree. I liked most everything about Skyward Sword except for the motion controls... god fighting that purple dude was a nightmare for me using waggle controls

agreed, being able to just enjoy the game using either analog swipes or simple button presses is so much easier than flailing my arm around trying to get the game to register properly.

Replacing full motion gesture controls with moving a thumbstick directionally for weapon swings may even be worse in practice.

I bought Skyward Sword after listening to the hype, and honestly was underwhelmed compared to prior Zelda games. Was a little suprised when they announced this re-release.

I doubt it. Having to swing your entire arm in a general direction or just flicking an analog stick a certain way are not even close to the same thing.

There is a reason most games havent done directional weapon swings with a thumbstick tho. Im not saying it wont work, but it just seems like it could be super clunky in practice as the right stick is usually dedicated to handling the camera

sorry but the release of this game will easily outshine botw in terms of actual puzzle gameplay and dungeons which is mostly what zelda is about.

edit: I also prefer the story of ss to botw tbh

Ultimate disappointment that they chose THIS game to be the first HD adaption for the Switch. . Could not stand this shit on the Wii, but at least this time around I dont need to play with the garbage motion controller stuff. Those controllers single handedly destroyed the game for me on the Wii...apart from that...the game was pretty much very boring to play. Definitely not a fan of this game in its original form. I never got to finish it because I just could bring myself to like it enough, the motion controllers put me way off.

i had 0 problems with the controls back on wii and 100%'d the game. anyone complaining about the controls to this day either didn't have an optimized set up or frankly just aren't very good with motion controls.

absolutely disagree. it was the most prominent "problem" for me. i hate motion control games. they are fun for some games, but NOT for a zelda game haha. and absolutely not if u cant play it any other way.
